Right guys, battery all connected, clifford alarm installed today, connected all the loom???

Tried to crank the engine, and having problems, cant hear the fuel pump priming?? So no fuel getting to the engine..

Also plugged the clocks in and the temperature gauge shoots straight up off the chart so to speak...

Some dash lights coming on, the usual ones i think, also the fuel gauge is not moving??

Any help greatly appreciated :D

get whoever installed the alarm to do it properly. if it worked before that was installed then that is the problem ;)

Dont think so not too sure

erm.. im surprised you stayed calm to that comment.

Just wondering, are your terminals nice & tight, & does the battery have suffiecient charge? To me it sounds like you either have a short somewhere or a bad earth.. so check your earths mate.

Yeah think so mate? hoping its not causing the problem

dont see why it would unless it hasn been installed correctly. unit was 100% working when taken out bud.

worse case senario if it was faulty id repay you matey, but dont think it will come too that. :)

well the worst situation when the guy installed the alarm there could be an earth & a + or signal wire touching which could be causing the electronics to go haywire.. thats why i asked you if your earth's are all ok mate..

as for your mate.. i guess it all makes sense now :haha:

cant see why the alarm would be a problem, unless its an immobiliser aswell

the alarm is a clifford intelli start 950i, im pretty sure its got an imobiliser. top of the range unit.

ive got a basic toad alarm an thats got an imobiliser an it doesn effect my motor.

yea the temp gauge could well have the connector round the wrong way, as for petrol gauge is the pump wired up right? do the gts have a fuel cut of switch?

i know some cars after a while of having no constant battery the fuel cut of switch turns off. not too familiar with gt so dont know if it has one.

Good point mate, thats what my mate said, will check that again too.

A wierd thing happened actually, i moved the loom slightly, key in the ignition on off though, and it tried to start lol?

then im 99% sure its like i said mate, you have 2 or more wires which are shorting/sending a signal or + to earth... be careful or you could short the whole electrical system out. i wouldnt be cranking it or turning the key on with this problem, until youve gotten it checked & sorted mate.
