RANDOM stalling with A/C on

Problem: Car RANDOMLY stalls with A/C on. It might happen when accelerating, decelerating, turning a corner, backing up or in any situation where it is moving BUT it doesn't stall at idle [P/D/N]. The car doesn't overheat with the A/C on. It runs like a charm without the A/C on. I NEED the A/C as temps here rise above 40'C. When it stalls, the accessories & A/C is still running but the engine is off. The car doesn't shake, jitter, misbehave before turning off, it just turns off {poof} and engine off. No prior warning. It's very scary and dangerous when it turns off at 100 km/h on the road!!!

Interesting Info: This did not happen before, it just recently started. Relocated my battery to the boot, put in a bigger battery and stronger (thicker) wires. My A/C compressor makes a weird tick tick tick noise when it works. I've been told the compressor is weak and so is the chamber (I don't know what the chamber is?). Interesting enough, my windshield & windows fog up due to the intense cooling the A/C does.

Any input is highly appreciated!

I would put a smaller belt on so you bypass the aircon compressor. Then run the aircon like that without the compressor being connected by the belt and see if that helps.

Excuse my lack of knowledge, but what exactly will happen if I were to do that? Without connecting the compressor how will it run?

the compressor wont turn.
the aircon will turn on, but nothing will get pumped round. just need to try different things to try and rule them out.

if the compressor is making constant clicking noises then either the clutch on the pump is on its way out, or the pump is on its way out from lack of servicing.

(the pump should click on and off though, this is the sound of the clutch engaging and disengaging)

on the bulk head there is loads of pipes and a control valve for the ac, try cleaning the valve and all the vacume lines out with carb cleaner (or something similar) these could be blocked.

(on my sportrack it had a similar setup to the ac side of a gt that controlled the idle, and that too randomly died then i cleaned it out and it was all proper gunked up)

I would check the earths, there is an AC earth under the oil filter which might get damaged...
Also I would check the alternator - and try to drive with as minimal load to the alternator as possible and see if it helps!
Also what kind of temperatures does your engine experience?

check injector earth and the A/C idle up sensor/solenoid. Adjust as necessary. seems you have very low idle. when compressor engages the engine slows and will shut off if theres not much power or rpm to compensate the load of the A/C clutch

It could be an electrical load fault, but the fact you say your windows fog up makes me feel there is an air con system fault. A/C air is dryer than normal air as it has been condensed, in our climate cold a/c air clears a misty window faster than hot air, I dont think your higher ambient temps would affect that process.

But the fact you relocated your battery makes me think you may not have as good an engine earth as before. It might be a good idea to chain link some 6mm cable from the main battery earth to the engine across the standard engine earth points.
