Right guys as you know ive recently gone td04 forged etc, got yself a zisco ram horn style mani/screamer, i had had the same style mani etc on my hybrid setup.

so heres my question, how loud shud the screamer be now im td04? louder than the hybrid setup?

i dont seem too notice much noise atall compared too my hybrid setup. that was very loud, yet i thought that now im running more power/boost it would be similar or more.

just wondering as me mates got a wepr kit yet his is very loud lol, any ideas on what it shud be like?

thanks guys

Try welding a bit more pipe on it bud, see if it makes a difference. I think the longer it is the louder. You could always cut it off again at the welds.

I'd be lookin to the wastegate itself..... a pipe 2 inches or 2 metres long will make a similar noise as a screamer due to the un-silienced nature of the fumes.......

Start with your wastegate spring.... what psi is it?
Is the diaphram inside working correctly?

If its the gate from your old setup you could have damaged it during removal-refit?

the spring itself is for 1bar. its not the same one its one of the kit i bought, how do i check if its working correctly?

would this caus any issues if not working properly? apart from the sound? like over boosting etc?

That spring is miles too stiff mate! drop the spring from your old setup in, presuming you are using an electronic boost controler your boost settings will not change..............

Let me know if that helps, I'm 99% sure it will solve the problem

To stiff? please do explain that one.....
I know a few cars that run 1 bar springs and tey run just fine. ;)

And yes it will change the settings, your duty will change so your settings will have to change!!

And yes the noise will change with the length of the pipe.

Swap your ext wastegates over and see if it solves your problem (if the gates have the same bolt pattern)

i cant now as me other kit has sold, so im only with the current one that come with the kit. might ask me mate if i can try his then too see if it is this. we took it aprt today too check everythings ok, diaphram seems ok, springs larger than expected, but all seems good.

could anything internally be an issue? the wastegate on the turbo maybe?

thanks

Could always check the penny flap on the turbo, make sure its sealing correct.

Does the car boost as normal?

wel tbh with you mate, im not 100%, it feels fine, drives an pulls very good so much faster than the hybrid, on the rr, i was havin an issue an couldn boost past 1.3br as it was opening the w/g from the exhaust pressure. but on the road, im hitt 1.6 an its holding fine. which im confused about. but dont have the scream like yours in the vid ya posted :(

What boost controller are you using?

If you remove the boost controller, and run spring pressure, what does it do?
