good info! , also on this note having no TMIC and stock bonnet vent is bad as it creates unnessasary pressure under the bonnet which effects cooling too... im going to plan some ideas on a "jam racing" bonnet style vents along the windscreen side of my carbon bonnet to release pressure.... before anyone says having bonnet raises is purly cosmetic. the pressure going over the bonnet is far supiroir to the pressure under the bonnet hence bonnet raisers to NOT allow heat to escape while in motion, but a well placed and right shaped vent will draw the air from under the bonnet ;)

You may want to take the fan off that rad mate, its on the wrong side lol. Effectively the fan is probably blocking 40% of the rad.

i doubt it with dan, looks like a aircon or slimline fan which blows rather than pulls.

Phil

very true lol, but the downpipe wouldn't allow the fan on the other size due size / meltage and push/pull shouldnt make to much diffrence when the fans on lol

Dan i thought more of you lol

the hottest part, is the exhaut turbo area, so a vent located near that hot spot, will help as well dude..
be interesting with your rad set up matey..

oh, i think i missed the point on that comment.... yea the fan was spinning in the correct direction LOL, yes it was an aircon fan...

Jayc - like your setup, i did a similar thing in the paste where i cut out the slam bar but ive since welded ina new thicker slam bar and just cut out arches where i needed too. made the new setup and future ideas much better a its now a good mounting point for brackets ( oil cooler, custom rad ect" )

was roungly messuring up last night and now ive jsut got to decide where im relocating my external waste gate to, so it dosnt get in the way of the new rad pipes

so a little update
After wasting money on my first attemp as the first rad was way to big lol my 2nd choice was a rad for a focus st170 - has 2 extra ports on the rad, one to fill it up and one to air to escape which is perfect for the external 1.5liter tank ive got as a header with rad cap, as my engine bay is currently in peices its only a mokup at the moment, but after some pretty heafty modifercation to the focus rad i got it to just about fit, brackets have been made and it fills 99.9% of the space available between the headlights lol,

also welded in a new slam panel which i need to paint as id cut my old on out ages ago- much more sturdy now,

ill let the photos do the talking for now, but keep an eye out for my completed new setup over the next month or so

Looks like a fairly tight/neat fit - you couldn't get much more in which is exactly what you want with a radiator.

It did take an hour or so off work to get it to fit nicly, its deffinatly in there by the MM lol,
looks great in person though, photos look odd as i shrink wrapped it for protection during testing / modding.

This is exctly what i wanted, the grille now has a full face of radiator which is miles better than my old setup, not to mention size overall capacity & differnce

i nearly opted for a punto GT rad which would go in the same place with no modding atall, but as the inlet and outlet was on teh same side i didnt trust the cheap rad would have the internal divider to make it a dual pass rad, and i cant weld alloy myself so took another chance with this one.

ill make a shrould between the rad and intercooler when its done too so no air escapes out of the sides due to pressure diffrences.
rest of the enginebays gettin a full paintup/overhaul, going to look awesome again.

That looks shit hot mate. What is the core thickness of that? It doesn't look all that thick but am sure the extra surface area more than makes up for it.
Will be good to see the final outcome of this buddy :)

Cheers dude, my first choice was a rx7 triple core rad 70mm but was too tall as the tank were top to bottom not side to side
Like the focus one, so this one is twin core 45mm thick with surface area of 670mm by 360mm. Surface is double the civic rad area and twin 10" fans should be overkill

If anyone needs an rx7 rad let me know, or I might have to use it on my mx5 lol

Turbo kit sticks out to far, so stock position only a half size will fit. Now what he is doing is mounting a bigger rad in front of the slam panel.
