Seems like elephant is the cheapest for me...

I know it's a GT/Glanza forum but I just called up adrian flux for insurance on my Jazz.

Guy on the other end asked me what my best quote so far is and I said £850 with elephant and he was like "850?!?!?! Sorry mate, we won't be able to match that" :p

I thought his reaction was funny. LOL.

I'm trying to find another company instead as many of you guys have stated elephant are alright but don't allow you to drive other cars 3rd party until you're 25. Booo.

Try Bell, are very similar to elephant but you can pay a bit extra to drive other cars 3rd party :)

Bell / Elephant / Admiral

There all regulated by Admiral im sure it is so the quotes wont differ by much but these are always the insurance companys i recommend.

A Honda Jazz mate.

For some reason they're absolutely expensive to insurance.

I'm 20 with 1ncb, but I live in the dodgiest postcodes - M26 (home address) NG7 (uni address)

Scratch elephant, just figured the £850 is their 10 month one. It's around £1000 for 12 months inc. mods. Wish I had a glanza, it'd only cost me £1300 fc!

If I get 1ncb from elephants 10 month bonus accelerator, other companies won't accept it right?

im sure with the 10 month policy other companys will have to accept that years no claims!

that much for a honda jazz bloody hell! what part of manc you live in.

Honda Jazz have always been expensive to insure. It's ridiculous.

Back when I was 17, it would've cost me like £1800 with no ncb at my friends address in Wales. I got a quote on his 16v 1.2 Clio (same engine size but his Clio was a lot faster than my Jazz), would've cost me £1100 fully comp at his address. That's a massive difference.

I blame all them old fogies driving around in them and smashing them up. Grrr.

I live in Radcliffe mate, although I'm in Nottingham studying so it's gonna be insured at my Uni address.

I wouldn't mind taking the 10 month insurance but I'm not sure whether in the future when I come to quote another car, other insurance companies will accept it as 1 year? As technically, 10 months isn't 1 year (mr bleedin' obvious!) Plus I'll only be living at my Uni address for another 11 months.

I Read Up On The 10 Month Accelerator And It Does Count As 1 Years No Claims Discount Even If You Go To Another Insurer. Read If On The Bell Website

I beg to differ.

My company would give you a discount for the 10 month bonus but you would be better off with a full years NCB.

Well I'm in a bit of a pickle now.

I can either choose a 12 month policy for around £950ish or a 10 month policy for about £800.

I have £1000 to spend but I don't want to be using it all. Plus, mother's decided to change the car after this year, it's so bloody expensive to insure. For the same price I could insure a 1.6 civic sport. :\
