some info on a T3 please?

i cant find any info if the garrett T3 off a sierra cossy 2wd is rollerbearing or no? i think if you read the plate on the turbo if there is an "R" on the model it is but the only method to see the plate is to actualy remove the turbo off and i dont realy want to do that at the moment.


if its not, could be converted to rollerbearing? cheers

its not worth the hassle as ud have to change the chra.. which iirc is around Lm280 ... so ud be better getting a turbonetics super 60.. with still is single bb.. sor some odd reason.. y would u want to put a bb on the t3? the t3 doesnt have much lag...

i use it as a daily drive kon... its not that lagy but would be far better with less lag lol... imma for 280 id leave it like that :|

i know shel... well put it this way.. iv been in a car with a turbo like urs.. it has a very nice punch over 5k ;)

chra's are the most expensive part of the turbo as they house the bearings/seals & shaft...

what do you need to put a bit of lag down?

head work?

EBC?

will an external wastegate help ? or thats just for keeping steady boost?

head work if anything will increase lag...

ebc if anything the avcr.. as that can help a little..

well if ur actuator is pre opening it will give u a little more lag... personally i prefare external wg's as they control boost & seal better..

yeah think if the actuator is opening a bit the wastegate it will loose some presure and will take more time to reach full boost. thats why i tought of an ebc as they open the wastegate when a certain amount of presure is reached right?

yes, but they still remain dependant on the actual diaphram of the actuator, if the actuator spring is weak it will open anyway due to the exhaust gasses pushing the wg door open ;)

well with a good tune around 1bar anything from 240 to 250 bhp (atf)...

whats the t3 off chris?

a bentley lol think its the same as a 2wd cossi but its got cut back wheel on the exhaust side. would just to use it as there to many td04s over hear now lol

actuator isnt weak ANZI! at the moment im running 12psi cos of the clutch slippin... and full; boost at 4000

& u call that lag lol?! thats not lag thats nothing man! seriously stop worrying! its also lagging for u coz ur running low boost, a bigger turbo needs a decent amount of boost to keep going ;)

id have a t3 series turbo any day over the td04L (i would know iv had one lol)

lol im not worying but i want it to spool faster:p. Do you realy think that you could get 250 with it? By a good tune you mean using at least a piggy back??

well a piggyback would help alot shel! so yes id say with a good tune on the emu u can see around 250 bhp at 1bar...

iv seen it on at least 3 other cars before shel ;)

i would be happy with 250's :) and running 1 bar means stock internals. what max boost these T3 can handle?
