Autobahn stainless steel from Dave Burwash. £125 alone, or £150 with the toyota manifold gaskets inc. less then half the price of any other manifold

Whoever modified the car was obviously a right tit. the CT-9 turbo becomes inefficinent after 1 bar. this is due to the size of the compressor, after 1 bar it starts to generate a massive amount of heat. Hot air from the turbo reduces performance drastically, as well as increasing the air temperature inside the engine.

As people have already explained, the 3rd runner in the stock manifold has a big restriction, so the engine struggles to shift the air into the exhaust at high boost which is the reason why your 3rd piston is fucked.

Even with a new manifold, the maximum boost your car should be running is 1 bar. Monkfish's car is a very good example of how it should be done

With a hybrid/Blitz K24 etc turbo you can run a little more, between 1 and 1.2 bar. At this point you should be looking to forge the engine (pistons and rods) becasue your newly rebuilt engine won't last very long at that boost

I still can't believe your car is running 1.3 bar. i'd go back to the person who you bought it from and give him a massive slap across the face.

If you buy a stainless manifold I promise that you will regret it and you will get pissed off removing, getting it re-welded and re-fitting every weekend.

Dont go down the SS mani route.

If you want it set up properly my advice would be to go to somwhere reputable further a field like Thor etc dont bother going to Westek in Newport which Mike will probably recommend you will be throwing your money down the drain.

You can port your standard one and at 1 bar on the ct9 it will be fine all you need is a dremel and some grinding stones. There are some pics on the site about my ported one.

The thing is with manifolds is loads of people need them and at the moment there are not any good strong mild steel ones available so porting your manifold would easily do until they become available.

I had a SS mani before and it wasnt the cheapest version and it didnt last a week even with the brace on.

I read that loads of people have trouble with them I would never have one again.

The last thing you want is to re- build your engine and then have to remove the manifold because its cracked its a pain in the arse.

Just my 2p though. :)
