Spitting oil from breather

Yet again i have another problem but i think this is more serious

The Breather comming out of the top rocker cover is spitting out oil

if i drive it very slow the oil does still spit out but very little

but as soon as i get the revs up the oil is all over the engine

Hope someone can help me

Not having much luck with this car

Thank you in advance

yea i guessed that :( any ideas matey

Also when the cars running the breather pipe is breathing alot,i havnt noticed it like that before

The car still runs fine though

Probably you cracked a ring land on the piston mate. Get a compression test done and dont drive the car if you can. Dont risk scratching the bore.

i have brought it to work today but its only 5 miles home and ill be driving slow

im going to take it to the garage after work

What sort of money am i talking would you think

I've had 2 rebuilds mate, its worth every penny.

Depends, pistons are £34 each I think from Toyota (standard) and rings are I think around £70 for full set of 4, you can't buy them singles.

not to sound like a gimp, but only reason why the rings/pistons would go is because the boost has been adjusted the fuelling not compensated?? or is it a common problem on starlets for the rings/pistons to go naturally?

i have not adjusted it at all,i bought it as it was

those prices dont seem to bad,but i wont be able to do it myself so labour will probs be a right bitch

most probably its a goner piston ring if breather is spitting too heavy oil but a compression test will tell u if it is. i think this is called blow-by if i remember corectly.

thers alot of white smoke comming from the breather

well that confirms it.. u either have a few rings or a few melted pistons..

right now u should b asking why.. not what..

whats ur mod list? & settings?

Blitz dump valve
RSR stainless straight through exhaust
HKS Fuel Cut Defender (FCD)
HKS Programmable Fuel Computer F-CON (PFC)
HKS Air Filter
Greddy Trust front mounted intercooler
Upgraded adjustable turbo actuator
Upgraded high flow fuel pump
NGK silicone spark plug leads
Denso IK22 Iridium spark plugs
FET TB-308 Turbo Timer

not sure dont have boost gauges

one thing that may help is now and again the engine managment light comes on,then when i stop and turn it off it goes out

A spec list like that and no boost gauge? WTF?! With the F-CON I wouldn't think you'd be running lean so maybe its just natural wear. How old is it and how many miles?

And buy a boost gauge!

I dont agree... it could be that he was seriously overboosting thats y he melted a couple of pistons or fried some rings...

that doesnt mean he was running lean, well not necessarily, it could have been cause of too much boost..

I had a boost gauge once and it was 0.9 on low and 1.3 ish in high

Its still in the car just the piping is all bent, need ned piping
