So as some of you know I was made redundant after 18 years just after Xmas :(
I've done nothing or haven't looked for a job since, just been holidaying lol
I've never been outa work since I was 16 so 30 years, I think a 6 month break and 2 holidays is enough ? LoL
Wasn't sure what to be at next then I asked the Dole about HGV training and it turns out they will pay for my training for my C class 18 Ton license :)
Today was the 1st day of a 4 day intensive course then Tuesday I do my test.
Spent the day driving round East Belfast and the Boucher Road and the University areas, Jay will know how fun these areas are when busy in a car but a lorry is a Tad different
I'm used to driving a massive 60 Ton dumper, 48T empty 120 loaded but its a completely different ball game on the road even tho it's smaller
Every day IS a school day as they say :)

We had a go in the Artic after today's driving, very easy too manouevre in fact easier than the rigid.

I went into this thinking it will be easy enough given I've been driving a 60 Ton dumper truck for 18 years
Fuck was I wrong lmfao, very similar game but completely different balls used lol
Also, fucking lycra clad 2 wheel wankstains on society where out in force today grrrrr lol

Fair play! HGV drivers are the backbone of our society and I take my hat off to the legends that do it! Hard job that is and I'm always impressed by those that can manoeuvre that sort of thing.

Another exam (cpc) this afternoon then I can start driving C class on the roads and will be able to train in the Artic on the roads, only had it round the yard so far

Just back from interview with the owner of CCRS recovery and got offered the job there and then :) start on Monday morning :) 9-6 Monday-Friday and whatever overtime comes with situations we go too :)

Never applied for anything else, this is the Company i want to work for and the job I want to do now
Will look at the Artic in 6 months but it will be handy for recovery too :)
