still smoking and using oil

ok so a few months ago my car started useing oil got to the stage was useing a litre of oil every day or 2.

so got my spare engine done up valve stems redone pistons and rings cheaked fitted a trd head gasket complete gasket set done on it . and it is still smoking on a cold start and when it goes above 3.5/ 4 rpm. any ideas on this as im stumped as is my dad who is the mechanic .

what work was done internally on the engine when it was rebuilt?
what condition were the bores in ? were they honed? what was the ring gap like? done a compression test? what were the oil rings like that came out of the engine? what turbo are you using ? what colour smoke is it putting out?
what are the engine rocker cover breathers like/connected up to or as.

these are only some of the things i would be asking. but are a good start, cant really take a decent stab at saying what the cause is without knowing answers to some of the above questions

Does it smoke above 3.5K rpm when hitting full throttle only, or also when letting go off the throttle?

Finx, he says it's an 4E-FE, so I don't think he has a turbo on it :)

yea its when it goes above 3.5k rpm and sometimes when coming off throttle it lets a pop out the exhaust then smokes for a bit .

firstly i would do compression chek if ok ,mybe a cracked head lad or some sort of crank pressure mybe?

head is ok there is no oil on the out side will check the pcv valve its the thing on the rocker cover with the pipe to the inlet mani?

How many miles have you done on the new setup?

I can take a hundred or so to burn all of the old oil out of the exhaust, bafflers and cat.

have done about 500/ 600 miles the engine only has 60k on it and the rings are 100% and it was just a build to give me a bit more power untill i can afford to go 4efte

if you only built the engine what oil are you useing to bed the rings in mineral oil for that job

still would have used new ones amd honed he bores also were the small holes in the pistons cleaned out (were the oil rings are)
