Strange Incident Earlier Tonight, Opinions? Ideas?

Well was out at a meet tonight, on way out i accelerated up a hill boosting fine etc then i eased off when too accelerate again, but throttle was not responding atall, no matter how hard i pushed it the revs wouldn change.

Then when i got to the traffic lights car cut out, then when started again wouldn rev an just cut out again.

me mate pushed it round the corner then had a look under the bonnet couldn see any pipes or connectors disconneted etc check the emanage for flashing lights an all good there. so i left it for a minute, got it started reving etc then just floored it in first gear an it did the same again.

couldn start again after that so bumped it too get it going an no issue on the rest of journey tonight.

on the standard boost gauge on dash clocks it read full boost when it first occured. only thing i noticed on way home turbo seem too be very chattery which ive not noticed before either.

any one had an similar issues or ideas what it could be?

My first checks would be the coil and dizzy, then fuel system pump filter regulator injectors etc, also check the plugs for condition and colour. It's a bit a difficult fault especially if no eml came on!! Hope you get it sorted boss!

sounds like an ignition problem that. I would check the coil lead and the coil first off for any loose connections, bad connections and go from there it sounds like its probley something minor but the type of thing that may take some finding! good luck!

You didn't reply to my message. But yeah it looks like ignition problem - would recommend to replace the leads, dizzy cap and the rotor arm! I'm with ROB on this one -)

but now all seems good lol. strange

ive checked all leads etc an all seem of too be connected. but i need too have my mechanic check the injectors out an some other bits. hasn happened before an hasn happened again. lol

Throttle position sensor ;) same thing has happened to me before. Mine was the wiring for the throttle position sensor so it's worth checking the sensor and wiring.

Sounds fuelling related have you got a fuel pressure gauge hooked up and maybe swap another pump in.

fpr gauge is reading normal dude :)

Think you should be able to look at the log from the emanage mate. Failing that I think there's a thread in the helpful section on here, can't get a link as I'm on my phone. I know that it operates between 0 and 5 volts, 0 being closed and 5 being WOT.

You got a wideband mate? As long as it's a good reading you should be fine. Only other thing is if it's chattering a lot, this can be caused by chipped compressor blades.

i have the turbo meshed so that could be a reason, but would it effect the boost etc if they were damaged? its only if im gentle of the throttle. if i full throlle an quick of it it dumps lol but i dont hear ther chatter then as dump valves loud lol

Yeah you won't really notice it on full throttle. I would tale the mesh off and have a look mate, only a 10 min job. Not sure if it would affect boost, but I'm sure it will effect it someway or another.
