Td04 laggy

My td04 doesn't hit full boost until 5000rpm, is this normal for a td04?

Should be quicker spooling mate. Is yours mapped on piggybak/standalone ecu? Do you have an EBC?

no its not atal mate, you have an issue some where, check the condition of the turbo and the actuator spring etc look for boostleaks too, as abouve few more details of the setup may help

after going to york dragway and doing a 13.7 on a tdo4 @ 1.1bar i thought something was wrong,so i blocked the inlet to the turbo and then connected a compressor to the inlet and fired the compressor up.and haypressto it wouldnt hold anymore than 0.5 bar and was whistleing like mad(two big boost leaks) and also my turbo felt laggy

boost leak or shagged turbo then bud, does it whistle under load? if not will more than likly be the turbo sorry

I have recently changed the manifold and air filter, would this cause it? I'm thinking a leak somewhere

Turbo has only done 35k , doesn't smoke , I'll have a look

i ran a td06 once and got full boost at that time you should be getting full boost by 4k easy with a td04

dude check for your manifold for cracks and leaks in your silicone pipes, a mate of mine done this and we found out that the dump valve was fucked bud wasent holding boost worth taking it off and bungin it to check your boost then dude

not atal just be laggy through your gears but you only need to do it once just to see if boost comes on alot quicker mate let us know
