No what I meant was, 4Life coolant changes colour when exhaust gasses etc mix with it. So if it's lifting under load only, the coolant will change - this is perhaps can't be picked up under normal conditions with the sniffer test.

I think it's worth doing for such little money.

No its just a colour toyota chose it doesnt change colour and isnt effected by the gasses.

The block test itself does this and when tested it was fine.

About this product
Effective for 10 years, simply drain the cooling system and replace with undiluted 4-Life. This helps protect engine internals from corrosion with protection down to -42DegC and a boiling point of 180DegC. Warns of head gasket failure - the colour changes from red to yellow. 5 litres.

Not according to Demon Tweaks...

Pretty cool idea. I use the Toyota coolant thou, as it is recommended for imports. Not sure what the difference is thou.

In an interesting twist, The Bitch hasn't spat any water out since fitting the new rad, and I gave her some abuse the other day. No signs of any water being spat out as the expansion bottle wasn't even full and when cool, I took the rad cap off and it was still full (The water level couldn't be seen previously). Which is odd given I'm suspecting HG failure.

Kelly, if you haven't done so already, take your car to a reputable radiator specialist (or to Toby) and check your rad. It could well be it's fucked.

Problem is stil driving us crazy going to get the rad checked monky! also dont know if its worth changing water pump the heaters in the car arent even warm when on full whack!

Nick has a brand new rad and he stil gets the prob nowhere near as extreme as before tho but its stil there.

Will keep updated after rad check.

the heater matrix might be blocked, if so i assume this could cause the same problem as you are getting.

really? will have to look into that too then! what a thread :p

does the circulation have to pass through the heater matrix then?

Try by-passing the matrix, at the bulk head and see what happens.
SX has made a good point, as if the water isnt getting to flow through, it would kind of act as a sticky thermo.

Worth a shot.

right. cooling system has been flushed. rad has been checked and flows fine. heater matrix has been taken out of the system in case it was causing a block. and still having the problem! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

wat else can it be?

if the heaters arent really working properly, does the car take ages to get the water warm?

if so your thermostat could be stuck open? not quiet sure why that would cause the water to overflow but i think your running out of ideas lol

No he didn't theres no point in wasting it while its just firing it all out mate.

Apart from the fact it will COMPLETELY rule out any type of gasket failure, or failure under boost etc.

For 15 spuds I think it's worth putting a mind to rest!
