Td04

I have a td04 on a zisco ct9 manifold with adaptor plate to suite td04 turbo as a result I can't get a filter on it because the oil filter is in the way, so I had mesh on the turbo an a tin bit of a sock to stop dirt getting in there an its like that sinse the engine was rebuilt last year,

But the last few days the turbo started to whistle so I look around on here for the reason y an I found that a meshed turbo reduses air intake an a turbo will whistle,

So I took the mesh off an took it for a spin an there was some difference in power an my ssqv actually made some noise an its still mapped at .4 bar for running in engine, well run in by now,

So my question is wat can put on the turbo intake to prevent dirt going in, bigger mesh an tin tights over the mesh?

Any info be great thanks ger

Yes. Meshing is messing around.
Or move the oil filter! :)

every oil filter rolcation kit i see looks nasty and has fittings straight out that look like th take up as much room as the filter!

give me an example, as id like to relocate mine neatly.

That's what I have seen aswel wit the sandwich plate having to go on the oil filter housing an then the hoses coming out from that there is not alot of room left,

I have no example bud, but it will be neat as I have my own engineering facilities :)

I use the Trans Adapt oil filter relocation kit part number TRD-1113. However I did not use the brass fittings or the hoses that come with the kit. I used Russell AN fittings and braided lines instead. One straight AN fitting and one 45 degree fitting

Sorry for the delay in looking into the attachment issue mate, I had a look at the back end and all the forum settings look 100% - could someone else give it a go in case there's something wrong please?

The oil filter thread size is confirmed by Dan in this thread:

Back on topic you could maybe try an air filter sock over the inlet of the turbo. I would certainly be better than leaving it open but you won't get the same air flow to it as you would with a pipe and filter to the front bumper:
