ive got a copy of the latest emu update you can get it from the greddy website though, its free... wish my wastegate wasnt broke, i would stick it back on 5e marker and see how it is.

Whats ur ext gate doing? Is it just refusing to open?

From looking at some charts the 5E marks give u considerable more torque but the 4E give u alot more hp. Would definatly be nice to see some proper tests done.

ive posted a graph before, if you givve me a few mins ill post it up again...

my wasegate isnt opening, i took it off and used air comrressor to open it and it work ok after i took it apart, but there is a TINY hole in the metal inside and i tink it must be causing it to stay shut. buy cheap buy twice :(

ok here we go about teh best comparison i can get. exactly the same setup but with 200cc increase...

4efte td04l @ 0.90bar 203bhp and 186 torque
ScannedImage.jpg

and my forged 5efte td04l @ 1bar
ScannedImage-2.jpg

so thats:
4efte td04l @ 0.90bar 203bhp and 186 torque
and my forged 5efte td04l @ 1bar 231bhp and 240 torque

from jsut a 5e conversion on 5e timing mark

the torque specs are they with the 5e cam marks or 4e

sorry just reading so 5e marks thats a great result, what pistons were used for the 5e build?

with the sacrifice of some bhp possably. if i could afford it i would get 2 RR prinouts on the same setup with the diffrent marks, but as im tunning myself i only want a power run...

hmmm well im building a 5e now so just getting the block bored out this week for 75mm pistos so when i have it built i will get it mapped useing the 4e marks and then the 5e marks need to do this to put my mind at rest i like the torque in the engines?:):)

just one other thing is it worth putting spuddys engine at the 5e cam marks tomorrow?just to see if there is a differeance?

worth a try mate might be hard to notice but if you can datalog anything like boost to rpm and then compair afterwards might see if the engine is behaving diffrently

Had to nip out there for some smokes :)

I can hook up the laptop to the EMU, I'm not overly offay with the operation of the thing but I'm sure I can datalog.

I need to take it for a run tomorrow before I change anything cause of something Chris said I should check on the log. Then we'll (me and billy) strip it down and firstly check for abnormalities in the 4E timing and if we spot its wrong we can fix it and take it for another run and log it.

Lastly we'll stick it on the 5E marks and go logging.

What ever gives me the earliest/longest boost curve is the winner!

Unless of course I'm told in the mean time this sounds risky for the engine even with the ignition timeing set to stock levels.
