Cheers mate.

I just need to get the mk1 built for next year (white one is for sale but I really dont want to sell her, lol), but with no garage and the weather being rubbish it is taking too long.
Got the school inspectors in this week so not had a chance to do anything for the last couple of weeks due to lesson planning.

Been looking at the Rules and Regs for the Class B under 1600 forced induction for 2009, i swear you werent aloud 5e conversions the last time i read. so that means you can run a 5e, but does than mean you can only run hybrids of the orignal compressor housing???

will the rules change much for 2010?

As it does really take much to comply with the Regs of 2009.

The engine has to be toyota but the turbo in class B can be anything. Toyobaz is running a TD04.

I dont think the rules will change much.
I just used to remove my back seats, change my wheels and pull up to the start line.

Hmm, tempted to enter this myself next year. Would also be interested in a quick break down of costs.

So 5E wise, you say toyota engine, must it be the original block i.e 4E as it is with my hillclimbing regs.

Also, do you have to run with an MSA licence?

2-1, Engine block must be Toyota.

2-2, Engine conversions(ie: swaps) are allowed as long as appropriate brake and suspension modifications are also carried out – some conversions may be require more stringent safety equipment – Please contact our technical advisor with full details of modifications.

2-3, Engine modifications are free, subject to class restrictions.

As for costs.

It works out £90 a round and there were 6 rounds (only 5 count towards points)

I used a tank of fuel driving to the venues and another 20 litres while there (I had a stock engine tho so modified will use more fuel)

I only used the one set of Toyo T1R's at £200 but I know others used two or three sets of Toyo R888's (I couldnt afford them)

You need an IOPD license which is £15 for the year, bought at the first event.

I changed my brakes twice, disks and pads.

If i remember anything else I will add it

Pete
