Thats a relief, i've been finding it pretty hard to find someone that will MOT it because of these new rules they don't want to touch imports and modified cars.

had my V tested back in november and it failed on something like exhaust part missing hence no cat (plus a few other bits) so its cost me £50 for a used cat to stick on and its back at testers today. hopefully my hids are ok but nothing was mentioned on previous test so fingers crossed!!!

An MOT tester tried that exhaust part missing with me last year, my cars date of first use was before August 95 so knew he was wrong. Put him staright after i got an email back fron vosa.

what about cars that you might have purchased which already have an aftermarket ecu ? a little unknowning granny could do it by accident are they going to accuse her of goin for big hp lmao ...plus say you bought the car like that before this law comes in even if it does it was legal then why should you pay to have it removed ?

You won't have to pay to have it removed, as long as the engine warning lamp comes on with the ignition and goes off once the engine has been started there's no reason why it would fail the MOT.
