Seriously though that is rather strange. How bad a shock are we talking John?

I have to ask, does the shock come and go when the indicators are flashing on and off? If not then the fault is from the stalk to the relay and not from the relay to the indicators.

Narrows down your search area a bit.

^^^nope.. just as i select them up or down.. just one shock and doesnt happen all the time.. never get shocks off the car getting out or anything.. must search deeper.

This is going to sound really odd, but try holding the gear stick and selecting the left and right indicator without touching the stalk and see if it happens.

Use a piece of wood or a screwdriver, nothing that will conduct.

just tried that and it happened again once.. dont get a shock with hazzards on.. it only seems to happen after a spirited drive? i cant see it been static.. its hardly cause ive the turbo timer rigged into the handbrake switch?? but then again it would have to be coming from the engine side wouldnt it, folowing linkages etc

Faulty stalks ! current leakage from them and passing through you and then hitting the metal gearstick completeing the circiut, resulting in shock !
