Wheel doesn't look right?

Hi guys,

I've just fitted my coilovers and slammed the car but the front wheel looks like its sticking out too much from the top.

The passengers side is fine, the top of the tyre is tucked up under the arch but the drivers side just looks like its sticking out too much. Looks like the bottom of the wheel is in more than the top. The coilovers are definitely adjusted to the same height all around the springs all look to have dropped in place properly.

Any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks.

Yes adjustable pillowball top mounts.

They look ok if I look at them from the top and not dramatically out..

I've had everything off twice (once to fit them, and then once to drop them because they wasn't low enough the first time) so I'm rather certain everything is on properly. I even had the wheel alightment done today but it was just a basic wheel laser alignment for now.

I hope its just the camber! My cousin said it could be a bent coilover even it it looked straight. :(

I need to raise it up a bit now because it catches like f**k even after removing the arch liners, I'll get them set up after that.

looks like you may have the topmount on the wrong way, spin it rought 180 deg, if not then just needs camber adjusting

I was thinking this as well unless one side is different from the other. From pictures looks like it's running positive camber on one side from here. Essential to get it all aligned as well, looks great though I must admit.

Have you got a geometry specialist near you?

Thanks guys.

I will mess with the top mount tomorrow then and see what happens.

I think we have a local place who does the four wheel alignment with the graph etc but I'm not sure if he will aling the camber up for me, unless this is part of his job anyway? Hope that makes sense!

yea as toby said, it better to go to specialist as normal mechanics might not understand, they can be so stupid for qualified" people. spin the top mount round and see, but im not sure if a normal garage will have a camber guage.

an full alligment car work wonders for handling though ;~)

Dan I'll pay him a visit tomorrow and see what he says. I've never been to him before though. He charges about £40-£60 for the alignment, does that sound about right for all camber etc too?

Sam I can't make it. :(

if he does it right that price is a steal, back home we do alot of track cars and even mates rates are about 200 for a full setup. try have the top mounts set up in such a way that you get as much positive castor as you can. because camber generally needs very little adjustment from the top mount anyway.

I went to get it set up but the guy was a racist b**tard so said he "didn't want to to it". His garage is in a proper ethnic majority area so I see the problem. Need to find somewhere else to go now.

I also turned the top mount around by 180 degree, problem still looks the same..

its prob the top mount! go to a good tyre place, a good tyre garage should be able to alingn trackin, camber etc
