wtf? loud bang...

hey all, i need some help,
was driving home today and a massive clunk / bang came from my car... pretty much straight away it started sounding like a lawnmower lol
it sounds like a hole in the exhaust but i had a quick check and couldn't see anything obvious, does anyone have any ideas of what could have happened?
car still drives fine, although i haven't boosted it or taken it over 3k revs since

*ps: if this don't make sense its cos i'm pissed

No seriously, not taking the piss with that young padwan, you see:

An electric whizzing noise would signal an intercooler pipe has blown off or turbine trouble.

Loud petrol rattle could be engine trouble or exhaust damage.

have you put your foot down since ? sounds to me like intercooler pipe has popped off or out at a joint.

A lawnmower noise is often heard and there will also be a distinct lack of boost ....

its defaintly a petrol lawnmower / ride on sound. Sounds like an leaky exhaust but its coming from the engine bay i think. The car still boosts aswell so that rules out the intercooler piping.

start her up and put ur hand ovr the pipe,if the exhaust is leaking you will here it pissing out air,to fing where you need a second person,this would rule out exhaust problem

get some tissue paper and hold it around the manifold gasket its a lot easier to tell if it is blowing then also check your turbo to actuato pipe mine poped a few weeks back and i thought something really bad had happend and sounded like a lawnmower put it back on and all is well
