i can see the reasoning behind some peoples complaints, but obviously this is a public forum, and it would be near on impossible to police it in such a way that it could become the 'perfect atmosphere'.

people have different opinions, different levels of knowledege and different personalitys it is impossible for everyone to get along or agree on everything.

As for the newbie threads i agree with jay! you can get a pretty good idea how the threads going to pan out just from reading the title or first post! if you dont like what you are reading just click back!

I would imagine most questions asked on the forum will have been answered before, so if all newbies just searched the tech sections would rarely have new threads strated in! at the end of the day whats so annoing about a newbie post? does it really matter if there there if you dont click on them?

TGTT has expanded massively over the last couple of years, it is impossible not to pick up a few idiots along the way! The staff of tgtt go out of there way to look after the forum as best as they can and to be honest, aside of the arguing and newbie threads i think TGTT is probably the best forum i have ever been apart of.

One thing I am cautious of is over-moderating.

Yes we can cut all the bullshit out but then you end up with a 1984 senario. And that's no fun to anyone.

In my eyes personal opinions are fine so long as they do not take away from the quality of the site. And by quality I mean technical advice, parts support and friendly backup.

After all, we are all in the same boats. ;)

On a serious note; I havn't been on the forum that long, (just over a year I think now), and ever since the first day I bought a starlet, there were always people here offering sound advice, quality parts aned their opinions whenever I wanted them. But as mentioned above, starlets are easy to get hold of now, and so many of them are getting into the wrong hands and being abused but its a free world so we cant stop that.
Where the newbie power threads r concerned it does annoy me. FCD threads and all that shit when the search button finds archives of virtually the same thread with all Q's and A's!
Ul get a thread about "how much is needed to beat this" "would a starlet do this" etc. Its bollocks tbh as a real enthusiast tunes and restores their car to how they want it to be, regardless of if the teg down the road can leave it round the bends!
Which brings me onto Honda haters lol. I know most of its just banter but I also know it seriously gets on ek9 owners tits on here when it goes too far n gets immature :argue:. Ek9's are a savage JDM car; any1 who love Jap cars and starlets must surely have alot of respect for them as they r v cool imo.:rockon:
I guess not much can be done, opinions and personalities will clash and there will always be a few nobends on here so I just ignore it. I would like to see pointless threads like Jonny mentioned to just get deleted tho!
On the positive side lol, I thank all the experienced owners and enthusiasts on here hu have helped me so much and gone to loads of effort just so I can get the gt how I want it and going gud. :kiss:

Well Johnny,

I started reading this post and my eyelids began to close, I can't say I agree at all. The forum has developed and I feel you're probably looking at some of the single poorer aspects that every forum will encounter.

I have to congratulate Dylan and the others who've been involved in the development of this forum, it's taken alot of time and effort.

We have

1) A members garage where I can look at everyones motor
2) We have an arcade where people can waste time
3) We have chat application where honda fans can brag all they like
4) We have a very good selection of traders, all of which deserve to be here (Others haven't been so lucky)
5) We have people dedicated to arranging meets and forum wide events, I'm very greatful for that
6) We have a huge closely monitored sales section, this is going to be developed.
7) There is a massive parts section in development
8) Other staff members making their own contributions

You're right, there are plenty of pissy little threads and posts, but we need to make these people aware about harnessing the features of this forum correctly.

hmmm maybe there should be a newbie section where all the the commonly asked questions are in one place and answered in detail??

and then if more help is needed still then should feel free to ask?

when i joined i was told 'use the search button mate', 'try a search' which never even crossed my mind as the search button dosent exactly stand out, i mean you have to ave a prpoer look to find it...

but once i started using it i have learnt alot by reading instead of keep posting stupid, annoying commonly asked questions :)

Well done sanchez, this is the type of feedback we need.

The one thing about this forum is that it has MASSES of information available to those that know how to find it. It's a large forum with alot of data floating aroung, the strange thing is that anyone who's used a forum before KNOWS there is a search function.

Maybe we could hyperlink simple phrases like "how do i get xxxbhp" to a part of an FAQ, I wonder how difficult that would be to impliment.

Why whats wrong with the honda threads everybody know its just being cheeky with the honda guys ! no one can joke anymore?Im the first one to post in such thread not because i hate honda cos everyone know how fast and reliable they are and with the posts here no one is taking their credit away are they? we all know there is recession everywhere but you shouldnt let it effect your mood!

As for the search sometimes not even i could find what i seach for it give you a too many threads to choose from which still dont answer your questions.

And photoshop not everyone has access to this it cost 1500 euro here to buy it so we could do with some help and even if everybody have it doesnt mean everybody would know how to use it.

As for the newbies the site would get old and boring if it wasnt for them you have to keep the site up to date as Jay well said or else the site will get old and die out !

Its cos it starts off as a bit of a joke, then someone will get personal or rude and it all spirals out of control from there!

But thats only lately cos of the recession :p They can get serious but they will still stop there (they cant throw fists to each other :) ) so its just forum talk

I use to be the first one to bait the hook for 3sgte and he fully swollows the hook on the honda arguments :p

i do agree with alot that has been said about the newbies etc maybe as said before there should be a section set up for faqs and the search button set to a side and made larger cause it is hard to notice as it doesnt stand out

the honda threads dont go down to well but i never understand how people get so hot and bothered about it like it is a car a really well built one and i often go to the muppets section to read these threads and i laugh my ass off because to me it seems so funny people get so mad just because others really like vtecs like if no-one liked hondas then gts and glanzas would be next and here we are complaining that they are gettin to popular I for one am happy that civics are popular cause i was 1 of the first locals to have a gt

as for this site all i can do is give it up to Dylan and all the lads for makin it such an awesome place as GTti said there is such a range of things to do on here i can stay on all day

As for the photoshop issue i cant see any problem with people asking for help on it why be sheep and follow the flock wen somethin as simple as photoshop can help someone to make up there mind on changin there car for there better at least in there eyes

is there anyway we as a site could buy photoshop and have it installed for people who contribute to payin for it can use??? if that makes sense i dont no if that would be allowed but as said in another thread 1500bucks is a hell of alot but between 100's of members it would be for nothin??? just an idea

ive no problem with the photoshopping,a lot of people on here are extremly talented,its just i find some of the colour choices daft,BUT thats my opinion,and im entitled to it,this isnt nazi germany.
