1 bar on stock manifold?

Only Slightly by myself with a cordless dremel :D. I dont think its that bad tbh obviously it is bad but not as bad as everyone makes out and imo 1 bar on the standard turbo will be fine.

I have a digital heat thermometer where you point it at a target with the lazer and it tells you the temperature if I hold it on boost for a while say up a big hill then run out and temp different parts on the block the area around no3 cylinder isnt noticably warmer than any other area.

Thats fair enough, but i think the question relates to running 1 bar on a totally standard manifold ? Having said that it just not adviseable, if it does not flow correctly plus does put extra presure on No 3. Of course at the owners descresion he can use a standard manifold at 1 bar its totally up to him but to be on the safer side imo i wouldnt run it without having No 3 Bored out. Its hard to predict how each engines heath is and if the gamble is taken to run it at 1 bar with Runner No3 still standard the chances of causeing damage is there.

to answer the question: i ran 1bar on a stock manifold for a short while and im not very easy on a car and nothing broke:p

but im not advising you to do so because it Could lead to major problems for your engine....i ran the risk on mine for a while until i uprated so if it blew it my my own fault(and not some knob giving bad advise on a forum)

also CaL-why comment on what you dont know about??this forum has only started and ive already read posts from you telling people on here:
to get their jam ecu remapped in uk:mad:
and advising stuff you have no idea about:confused: which proves you dont know what your talking about when it comes to cars, forum has only startede and your posting shite already-125 posts in a couple of days says it all really.....

the health of someones engine could be at stake so take a chill pill on answering what you dont know

I have starlet gtturbo s/s mani on my ep91, had it for bout 5 month and no probs, as long as u have a de cat pipe with a bracket u should be ok, think the reason most s/s manis crack is due to engine movement so braced de cat and engine damper or trd mounts should be ok, this is just my opinion

im going to bore out the standard mani for now with a dremmel!!
it seems the easyist option :]

i was running 1bar for about 3 weeks but didnt want to risk it any longer i guess its upto the owner and if melting something is going to be a big problem then definitly dont do it.

Has anyone ordered from RHD? How long does shipping take and how exactly does it work? RSR Springs are £76 from them, £106 with shipping?!?!

ok im kinda scared now lol. I brought my starlet and the guy said its running 1 bar boost but im pretty sure its running a stock manifold. Is there a way of turning it back down to the 0.8?
Sorry im new to all the techincal stuff :(

Boost controller or adjustable actuator should be able to help you there mate.
If it's running 1 bar it should have at least one of these mods....which'll allow you to turn it down. (unless it's a JAM actuator, in which case you wont be able to turn it down)

not if its tuned correctly it should last, but its when you get dodgy people wacking up boost without a decent tune then itll go bang! but im sure daves put alot of effort into getting it running sweet and having a goood tune.

i dont no the exact point of destruction for the 4e but there pretty robust so aslong as your not a idiot itll be ok
