Yes it would, unburnt fuel stinks, as you know. Bide your time and get it booked in somewhere decent with a good reputation. I have always said money spent on a dyno session is the best money you will spend on the car. This is where all your hard work and tuning parts (if thought through properly) will come together.
I personally don't mind spending £50/60/100 per hour with a good mapper when you're getting his 20 odd years of experience. Far better than some spotty oink with a degree and little "real world" experience. I believe with mappers you get what you pay for (there are a few exceptions).
Choose someone fairly local and get loads of background on their work
