cal, your idea of the relocated filter is ok but that pipe is utter shite. its weak as fuck.

speak to Dave burwash. has has some pipe that is a million times stronger and will do the trick perfectly. its a bit more costly but if you wanna keep aircon it will be perfect.

is it make your car more respon? for me its to much sacrifice not to use an aircon in my country..., mine is relocated behind the left lamp and replace the left fog lamp with a billion air ram.. so its also a CAI system but not infront of the gril for me... i put a pic of mine when i shoot my car tomorrow

Filters? worth relocating?

most people have done it or thought about moving there filters, from the orignal place at back.

but looking through the forum just now came to the zep starlet on toby's part.
'made for the track to the highest standards for maximum response' etc etc

and take a peek under the bonnet, and the filter is at the back?

surely amutuars like us cant have done somin better than zep and toyota's top man?

Thing is its a proven fact that cooler air means more power. If you have your filter in the front you will get cooler air than where it sits in the stock position.

Looks like there is no space in the font to locate the filter on that Zep car.

but you could find some where surely?

and it doesn't look like they'd have gone through all that effort, and just left the standard efi pipe on. lol

im currently in the process of fabricating and moving the battery tray to the back (where the filter was) and bringing the filter to the front behind the nearside headlight and making some sort of cold air feed!

you dont need to do that mate, i messed round with mine, just cut the over sized bit off the original pipe, the non flat bit, then put filter in one end, and other end on efi pipe, if you want it behind the headlight can just get an extended piece of pipe.
