I am using SV HG for about 10 months, in a very first month i realized my engine over flowing when ever i give it hard time, my HG done a pro mechanic who used to be member in here and had a few starbo to play before he done mine. i knew some thing was wrong so i bought a civic alloy rad to fit, still no luck till my car went for tunning and my tuner confirmed that the HG is faulty, thats how he tested it
pressure raises as soon as engine turn over(even its as cold as stone) rather than after its worm up
secondly he had a sniff test and it was negetive,
he came to conclusion that the fitment of the HG is ok but some thing wrong with actual HG
however we ordered a new HG in and its awaiting to be fitted
by the way i used sealant with HG
my head was skimmed and pressure tested before wed fitted

Yep mate, if you had boosted the car hard and then checked with a sniff tester it would have confirmed headgasket failure, i have a brand new metal headgasket in mine (different make) and it runs spot on and doesn't use 1 drop of coolant, its cost me alot of money, time and effort to get here and im highly dissappointed...

Mossy our first HG test showed negative coz we didnt boot the car first! We only did it on the drive. The second one we blasted the car down the motorway and then tested and it was positive.

I just fitted a speedvision headgasket to mine with new headbolts it is also a good idea to change any gaskets/seals while heads off as its easier, especially the intake manifold gasket as some heads have a water way going to the inlet manifold and can leak down sometimes people mistake this for headgasket leaking when its actually not just the inlet mani gasket leaking (been there myself) obviously it depends how often the heads been off etc.
only had new headgasket on for week now seems to be doing well so far

Not much and yeah i went to sam first but it didnt clear much up just the fact that he told me that all metal headgaskets dont last long which is rubish imo.

Not had any offer of a refund for it as well considering it lasted 1 week :flame:

i never said it like how u put it over jones..i said in time all metal gaskets do blow over constant use.....u never asked me for a refund of the gasket...kelly asked me for a refund 6 mths later and she got one......i also told her no supplier would give a refund on a headgasket after six months of use but in the end she won and i refunded...have no problem with her either.....at the time if u had asked me for a refund i may well have given u one........u asked for the injectors after u said the 550cc are not working well and i said i will give u the refund once i receive them back minus the shipping and paypal charges....but agreed to give the full amount later...so i dont think i am unreasonable as u put me out to ...

This forum gets worse and worse! my god, the reason kellys k24 car's headgasket has gone is no way down to the headbolts being over torque'd, its because the headgasket is not up to the job, im sorry for being so blunt but my speedvision headgasket lasted me the whole of 1week before it started blowing past and I MYSELF TORQUE'D THE HEADBOLTS and i they were 150% perfect to the torque, i have not one bit of doubt about the torque! and also my headgasket blew at 1bar so theres no way the headbolts stretch either, the head and block were checked for complete flatness which they were so theres 1 thing left and thats the headgasket.... brand new speedvision headgasket which let me down.

look this thread is not about bens car.

one person said about headbolts being over torqued.

then suddenly people assume that everyone else is talking about bens car.

bens car was not mentioned in any of the other posts, people were just saying about the things that could cause the headgasket to go.

lets leave bens car out of this and just say whether or not the headgasket is any good.

you shouldnt have used sealant.

but it doesnt mean that the headgasket was not at fault :)

Yes I used sealant on mine as advised by a reputable tuner and a starlet specialist. As far as im concerned, the headgasket is fine, it is used everyday. And would also like to add that the gaskets are half the price of jdm equipment, so very very good value! I believe gtwayne is also using a speedvision gasket with no problems

Im not saying you as a person mate, i have NO problems with you as a person sam, but i seem to have major problems with your products you sell mate, im not going to slate you mate as you have helped me but ive also wasted alot of money because of these problems, i don't expect to have to ask for a refund on something that lasted a week, it sort of goes without saying.

Ill take this to u2u mate as im not gonna start a arguement over the forum.

and yea i'm sorry but even if i had the headgasket for 6 months i expect it to last longer than that, especially when i asked in first place is it capable of taking high boost and i was told 2 bar no problem. everyone know 6 months for my car, especially over winter time is prob about 2 months normal car use for anyone else as it never gets used. if i buy an uprated product i dont expect to have to change it again a few months down the line, the reason for having uprated is so it lasts not so it costs more but does nothing better than standard

oh and for reference my car was a track car in japan and the old headgasket i took out was stock, it lasted 17 years afaik and speedvision one didnt even make one year. and stock is wat is now going back in

Do you offer a warrenty with zep and cruise gaskets Dave for future reference? I just find it hard to believe that any trder would being a part that has to be fitted correctly with a lot of other factors that will cause failiure?
