Front mount will give you too much lag do what i'm doing mate get an rx7 tmic can take up to 1 bar boost and is a really effective cooler and you won't need to get custom piping or cut at your bumper to fit it in i'm doing an rx7 tmic coz nobody else in nz has done one on a glanza or even a gt plus it's a hell of a lot cheaper then a front mount and all you need is a samco bend pipe to fit it you won't need a new fuel pump as your not running over 400 hp the fuel pump should be fine and the ct9 should be fine for 170 hp if thats your power aim you can go even higher up to 200 hp if you want a hybrid is useful if you have a manual and want more then 220 hp

na mate it came with the black mags, got it last xmas. yea thats the guy lol. I thought the stock actuator wasnt very reliable? thought i might aswell upgrade it. gonna go pick up my tmic tonight. you know a good place to go get a custom exhaust? Would it be a good idea to get an emanage instead of a rrfpr + fcd?

it would always be better to buy some sort of ecu management rather than fcd etc.

In nz the emanage unit is $1000 plus the price of tuning it that would be another $300 or more I am just getting the fcd and fuel pressure reg as it's cheaper I don't need all those extra functions that I won't use

welcome to the world of tuning a car :) expense!

just make sure you get the AF ratios checked on a dyno. I'm tempted by aftermarket ecu for mine. so i can mod more.

ECU for auto?

Can anyone confirm what aftermarket ecu i can get for ep82 automatic?

Also do you think im right in thinking that my auto will be running rich (ish) as standard with it being auto?

the only thing stopping me modding my car further was i was worried about fuel consumption coz its a thirsty thing as it is, so i sold my fcd and scrapped the idea of buying rrfpr.

Well im not sure if they made them but the only auto ecu i ever saw was made by sard.. but that was for an ep91...

but if im not mistaken it should fit as the auto ep82 uses a 3 plug ecu just like all the ep91's .. kon ;)

Just merged all the automatic modification into one thread for you folks. Will help keep it all in one place.

Basically the engine performance can be modified in the same way as a manual vehicle. You will see the same gains and characteristics when tuning both engines as they are identical.

The only thing that differs is the power delivery to the ground. The autobox delivers constant boost (ie no boost drop between gears) which gives a noce bonus against manual competition. The downside is that the autobox is heavier and less involving to drive but I for one am a fan of this driving style.

YBY pioneered the whole 'autobox racing spirit' on these shores a few years ago building a 200bhp TD04 automatic. This shows the potential but the autobox failed after a while. He doesn't consider this the transmissions fault so the question is still unanswered.

My advice is to read from the top of this thread now I've merged them.

Personally I would concentrate on handling aspects rather than straight power gains. Better to enjoy the corners than to fear them.

I saw a emanage for about $500 on trademe a little while ago, didnt know they were normally $1000! but since im not modding it hardout i guess i can just put a rrfpr and a fcd.
