Computer Keeps Freezing

won't let me install it, gets to the part where the windows logo is displayed after it copys files then displays blue screen lol.

x2... i was using windows 7 and was very pleased with the performance! infact today i got 2 more serials and going to install it again on my laptop and on my gf's laptop

Where did you download it from? You're hitting BSOD whilst trying to install it?? That's not good. lol
Yeah, got it on my laptop (Core2Duo 1.66Ghz shitty CPU) and it is so so so much quicker than Vista its untrue! If I were to install it on my main PC, I think it would be a beast but want to wait for another release, plus I use this PC for gaming and am unsure if some games would work on W7.

Found out what the problem was after pulling out ram, hdd everything under the sun, turnt out the gfx card was giving me the screen, ive now figured out i have onboard gfx and its giving no errors, its not freezing and its fine for now, although i now need a new gfx card, any ideas on one to get (for gaming)

Was 220.14 to my door was an offer on although i dont think the phenom quad cores are all that great now! i should have bought the phenomII x4 but didnt wanna pay what they was asking!

Glad you found the problem mate. Was thinking its more memory related than hard drive related. Pity it turned out to be the graphics memory though.
Nice choice of mods for the computer:haha: When you get it all setup remember to get it dual booted with XP and Linux you wont be disappointed.

you should have put windows 7 on and thats all
running sweet on my 1.6amd 512mb ram yes just 512mb and running perfect and not slow at all!

Not a big fan on Windows 7 myself, sure it runs faster than Visat but that wouldnt be hard. If you want the ultimate of Windows then you have to go for Windows XP Nemesis now that will make your machine run fast.
Not to mention I have a master copy and when you run a format and install it then brings you to a software installation screen where you can add any software programs you want. Im not on about free software im on about things like Photoshop, Office, Benchmarkers there is alot of stuff to choose from.
Now thats an OS along with Linux you will have one of the fastest machines you have ever seen, trust me

i did a search and found it on torent but its not downloading
and read some small reviews... sounds like an xp with services removed and applications added...

i still think windows 7 is the way forward it's what vista should have been in the first place. i will soon be running windows 7 on a quadcore i7 with 8Gb ram with a 2.66ghz processor that is just going to be insanely quick! but am worried about compatibility issues with my other programs like 3Ds Max and games etc
