I agree 3g are pretty poor disks, mine are starting to go a bit cracky after 4 months.

Dave
Yup, give them any sort of abuse and they dont like it, i did a silverstone session and now there knackered, i bought them so they would last on the track.

Nevermind anyways im going for a different brake setup altho i like to dream i can afford the AP's they are the greatest!

No problem mate, for reference the 15inch kit is £899.00 delivered and comes with front AP 4 pots, AP 295mm Disks, Custom made caliper brackets and DS2500 Pads, direct fit for the Starlets.

Thanks,

T

thats fantastic Toby, cheaper to get it from you than Mr Chu. how much would the 16inch kit cost, and what spec will it have disk and pads wise.

No worries at all there lovely kits, we just haven't had time to advertise them although have sold a few to date although most stick with the one pots, four pots all the way!

The 16inch kit comes with 304mm disks but these won't fit under 15's, impossible. Eitherway you won't need any more the braking power is in one word, immense. Even the Zep kits are amazing there just a fiddle to fit. Anything more than these kits and you'll only be locking the brakes..

how good are these usable for daily drive?
i mid want to upgrade when the engine is ready.

The kit is able to be use on a daily basis, i guess it derives from the formula big brake kit seen on the website www.apracing.com/ I think it mite be a bit difficult to get people to commit to a groupbuy at this time of the year for a product of this expense. but il try, here goes:

1. D3N0 - 16inch kit

i do rember toby mentioning a brembo kit he can supply aswell. which was quite a bit cheaper if i rember right. but if i had the money i would go for the AP kit.

if you went for the kit what would ppl be doing with the rear's? haveing such powerfull and good brakes on the front will surly mess up the braking balance? so do ppl just change the disc's and pad's or do ppl go the full hog and get replacement calipers?

Good disks are pads on the rear coupled with some braided lines will be fine, there is only a rear minimal bias. We are seeing if AP Racing can supply some cheaper calipers, the 5000+ Pro are great but not everyone will need them.

Should know on Monday as there open for a few hours so will call them in the morning. The Wilwood kit is a cheaper alternative but there are less disk options.

We also have uprated rear disks coming out for the Starlets more on this soon, there not really needed on the back but will give you peice of mind that both the front and rear are up to the job :)

these cost me 85 quid for the calipers and discs and 40 quid for a rebuild kit to get the twin pots working as new. just giving you the budjet option. dont mean to hijack your thread.

apart from that i always find dave great to deal with

Yeah in order of price:

Levin Twin Pot Conversion
Zep 4 Pot Conversion
Willwood 4 Pot Dynalite Conversion
3G 4 Pot Conversion
AP Racing 4 Pot Conversion

All have different options but that's a basic idea, you can use GT4 Calipers but you need 16's min. That's all I can really think of unless you build something yourself..
