sorry m8 well a bout three weeks ago i put my foot dwn and when the turbo got up 2 0.9 bar i started hearing a grinding noise. I took it 2 the jap garage that i use and they said that it was preigniting where it was on a 16.1 air fuel ratio.so they fitted a fse rrfpr on friday and set it up on the rollers and it went dwn to 14.1 ratio but was still runnin lean. The 225lph fuel pump has been tested thats ok,regulaters wrkin so that just left the injecters left so i took them out saturday they were tested spray pattern fine on all for all 4 spraying 300cc per minute so the bloke said the only thing left stoping it fuel properly is either a faulty sensor or the ecu.Any help would be great.

the fact that ur running rubbish fuelling is the reason mate not your ecu.

your rrfpr needs turning up a bit more, but the problem with that is, you'll be running really rich in the lower revs so u have the right fuelling at the higher revs.

if i were you i would just turn the boost down slightly until you get some form of engine management.

even if its just an apexi s-afc, you can pick them up on ebay for less than £100.

then you can fit it yourself in an hour(it only has 4 wires) then you can take it to get tuned again, for about £150

Thanx for the help not trying to say ur wrong need all the help i cn get.I dnt understand how you can say i have got rubbish fueling ive got a walbro 225 fuel pump a fse rrfpr the injecters wrk fine so it shopuld be fueling ok. when the rrfpr was fitted they put the pressure up 2 70 psi and with that kind of pressure it should have been running way to rich but it wasent so its not gettin through the injecters so what could the problem be mate cheers.

all i no m8 is they turned it up to 70 psi on the fuel line and it was still runnin a 14.1 ratio not a 12.1 like i need its now on 50 psi to be safe. the bloke i take my car to specialises in rx7 s and builds drag cars and he is stumped never seen this b4 thats why i need n e 1s help c if n e of you lot have ever had these kind of probs

The FCD fools the ECU by manipulating the signal from the MAP sensor to avoid fuel cut.

Basically your ECU thinks it is boosting less than what it is. When you are boosting (for example) 1 bar, the ECU is made to believe the boost is lower and thus only fuels for that level.

As you can imagine this can cause issues.

Yeah a said to you on that other thread that you posted about runnin lean that the fcd can cause it espically the hks which leans out most of the rev range rather than when you just go by fuel cut

Wow so in reality, a FCD is actually pretty bad for the engine, didn't realise it was to that extent! How does a Greddy or JAM Boost Cut Controller differ to the HKS FCD then?

thanx for that jay so what would be the best thing to do then m8 the bloke thats doin all da wrk on my car seems to think that an emanagment is the nxt step

The jam and greddy only make it runnin lean when you go by fuel cut which is 0.9 i think, ill be corrected if am wrong lol

oh sorry dnt no if this makes n e difference to the fcd idea but its runnin lean all through the rev range thanx alot to all have replyed realy big help
