The last time someone supplied an engine for me to fit into their Mitsubishi Delica (which came from one of these so say recon engine places), I had to spend a good few hours trying to get the water out from the cylinders because the engine had been steam cleaned with the inlet and exhaust ports open. Personally I'd rather buy a fucked engine and rebuild it than pay good money for some potentially unknown pile of scrap that passes through the hands of these type of companies.

As I've suggested, buy that engine from John and have it delivered to your door. It'll work out cheaper than the £800 you'll otherwise be gambling with and you'll have some piece of mind that you can just bolt it into the car and drive away.

WOW!! that is really bad.

Just source a used engine mate, no point trying to recondition that.

I aint gunna because from what i can see through the hole it looks like it damaged alot of things in there.
Iv phoned up a few recon specialist's near me n their phoning back on monday when they have got a price for me so hopefully the glanza will be back up and running soon

Personally I would just buy a complete working engine, there are scrap yards that have them taken from imported front cuts and they are usually good. They will give you a short warranty so you can go back if you need to if there are issues and it wont take as long as all the work needed to recon yours.

Last time I was in Eddie Torrens I past a container with about 20 in it!

Yes if a rod went through the block then there is a oil problem of some kind so the whole engine might be useless.

Just bought another engine from wigan, went to hear it run and theres no nocks or doesnt smoke at all apart from the condesation from the exhaust n thats it, ill be happy to get mi glanza back on the road again, although the one thing im not happy about is the price i paid for it, £790, it is the full engine tho with both the manifolds and the turbo plus the ancilaries :D
