my my some prehistoric mechanically knowledge there:haha: aint done that in years used to use that trick on old fords ive owned lol :slap:You could always use a screwdriver and put your ear up against it, like put it on the alternator and if you can hear it then its that.. I know it sounds stupid lol but ive done it in the past at the garage i used to work at and it worked lol..

high idle should be the automatic choke so nothing to really worry about BUT if it does that when the engines warm/hot could be icv or tpsGot your PM mate i'll get on it when i get home
the rattle it there all the time but i will deffo try the screwdriver trick as i've heard it works lol. One more thing is it sometimes idles at about 1100/1200 but sorts itself out eventually :/
Mine has polybushed mounts on it which i thought could be the root of the noise but i'm not too sure to be honest.mines got a high adle anyway 1000-1100 ish because i fitted polybushed engine mounts and the rattles unbearable any lower than that lol
It does sort itself out eventually so i'm not too worried about that. Just want to sort this noise out then move on to the next problem i have (speedo not working lol) then the car should be sweet... i hope...
i doubt it will be engine mounts tbh they just cause a rumble throughout the car not clunking/banging/knocking ectMine has polybushed mounts on it which i thought could be the root of the noise but i'm not too sure to be honest.
i got ripped off on my first gt it was crash damaged and badly repaired so i reshelled it to a rare coloured gt instead but im glad i got 1 tbh best car ive owned just dont give up on it mate wicked cars when there going strong ive put more pics on my welcome thread take a look when you get chanceI think i ripped myself off with this car to be honest lol i only had my leon for 6 weeks, 70,000 on a PD150 engine and i done a straight swap (My own fault ofcourse). so far i've had both wheel bearings done, two rear callipers, cv boots changed, hanbrake cables, discs and pads all around, exhaust needs welded, that noise needs sorted out and 4 new tyres. I know i need other things sorted out like a FPR installed, and most likely an ecu as it's still on the standard one running an externally gated TD04 ( only boosts to .7 bar but thats the wg spring i think). Still a nippy little thing and i've always wanted a glanza so i'm not too dissapointed as with all cars, start messing with them and something is bount to go wrong lol.
My mate has had 4 glanzas now and every one of them has been a little pocket rocket until he started messing about with them and they went bang, so any tuning mods i'll leave to professionals to do because i know what i'm like and it will only end in tears and me being skint if i were to do anything lol.
Cant wait to have the car sorted for the spring/summer so i can go to meets and shows though .

theres alot of members on here some locals i expect that know what there doing so you can always put a wanted help thread up and people off here would help you do the work ect for a fraction of what a garage would charge so its always worth asking on here first! or give you a step by step guide so you know what your doing also you cant get to know your car unless you work on it yourself mate a good car owner knows his own car!!
