Engine Torque Damper

Which damper did you buy mate? Some of the ones I've seen warn you that it might need slightly modding to fit.

think it was a section engine damper that i bought. problem i found is you could just about get the nut on the top bracket that holds the damper itself but when fitting it to the strut top it was so hard up against the brake pipes i really wasnt happy. need alot more than a bit of modding to get it to fit past that! as for the strut brace i like my TRD one so didnt want to remove that in favour of the stock item so just sold the damper to a lad on the site!

I've found ZEP racing ones. Apparently they fit fine. Might have to wait for it to be made though. :( I'm too impatient for that! lol

What about if u remove the engine mount and replace the rubber with polyethane?

Me i have just changed two engine mount two weeks back, and now i'm hearing that horrible noise coming from the engine mount by the side of the engine. Think ill remove the rubber and put polyethane plastic in it.

it's been done before, people fill in the holes in the rubber mount with Polyurethane (usually the window sealent) to good effect. I'd rather have a new mount made from scratch though, not a bodge

or u can leave a bit of the oem rubber mount, & make the rest out of nylon.. aka they become solid mounts..

kon

nylon? Cause we cant just change mount so often, then with this you get a lot of vibration in the car?

yeah ull get quite alot of vibration! but they wil b as solid as fuck!!

best thing u want for a good stable engine ;)

has anyone saw an engine damper for a gt as everyone who sell them sell them for like 150 quid which is a rip off really considering my mate bought a zep one for his civic for 50? can anyone help?

thats the going rate mate. civics are more common over here so parts are cheaper, its as simple as that. you get a rare car so you pay the prices!

cheapest bet would be to buy a cheap damper kit and then modifiy or make your own brackets!

thought zep only made starlet bits anyway???
