The thing is though, how do they know what a stock Starlet system sounds like? The DVLA/VOSA don't even have emisions data about cars, let alone how loud the exhaust is!
Just seems like more Gov't car-hate bollocks to me. :flame:

work in a toyota garage and we always have them round wanting to check on a standard car.
on one occasion they said they had pulled over a gt 4 with a noisey exhaust and wanted to rest a standard gt4 to prosicute him in court.my manager told them there was none available as they are quite rare so they tested a 2002 plate celica vvti and said this would be enough for court.
on another occasion they came into the garage and asked me for the keys to my car as the salesman told him my exhaust was standard.they wanted evidence for court again to get a starlet owner in the shit.my exact words to them were "no chance boys"
