fuel protests

Fuel prices didn't go up as often ages ago, now its like every month there is talk about increasing the price.

Small business's like haulage firms are going under because of the prices!

Prices of food are going up because it costs more to get it to the supermarket!

its just one big knock on effect from raising the fuel prices, and it doesn't even have to be that high, just the goverment wanting more money!

Why!?!?

At least we fall into the lower price brackets being a 1.3 as regarding the tax!

but I agree the cost of fuel, tax, insurance etc is getting out of hand. I paid £1.33 per litre for BP Ultimate the other day, only a few weeks back it was £1.25, still expensive at that! Seems every few weeks it creeps up!

Kev

yeh we fall into the lower bracket. but if 100 quid a yr is the average a person pays on car tax, think how much money gordon is making.Overall, there are 32,897,000 vehicles registered for use on UK roads including cars, vans, taxis, buses and trucks. So I guess about 3200,000,000! So y r the roads still shite?

its all a con anyway lol. there isnt much we can do unless we take the power away from all leaders of every party and start again with less tax across the whole border and hand pick well known people in each comunity that does good and is respected by others as each party in the end is really fighting for the same cause. >>> world governement, less freedom of the public , more taxes, more penalties for steping out of line.

Dude on the news reckons most HGV drivers fill up only £1k a week.. I give me boss £1500-£2k bills a week for fuel.. Its even pointless going to south ireland now as well as the euro is shite.

its about time we stood up and were counted. There's talk on our local forum about doing some roadblacks out of refinerys. If yopu think about it, every city and district has a car scene. if everyone agreed to protest, that's thousands of motorists joining the cause. We'd only have to leave our cars outside of a refinery for a couple of days...

The government are con-men there more worries about what’s going on with there second homes atm :flame: Unfortunately these are the people in charge no matter what party you go with there all money grabbers, the more they charge us, the more they make which means higher expense allowances for them.

The papers don’t help as they publish articles saying soon we will be paying 1.50 P/L and the people in England as a country are very lazy (including me) don’t do anything about it so they raise it a little more until we finally react, Europe, USA and just about everywhere else would of caused problems long before this point. At this point they have made billions out of us

The government makes a fortune and so do the petrol company’s both can be targeted to lower costs although the government is an easier target

Your all right, and every party is after the same thing, more money. I havent seen one party ever say they want to cut down the costs of fuel/road tax. Thats why when I get an election ballet thing come through the post to vote, I throw it straight into the bin!
So does my mum, so does my dad, so does my sister, so does my nan......you get the picture right?

Nothing well ever get done about the fuel costs and road tax costs. Unless we can literally get EVERY car in the country to protest, but then you hit another brick wall. People have work, people need their cars to get to work etc etc. Same as last year, people were trying to arrange a nationwide protest to get everyone to not use their cars, but too many people rely on them and thats what the government rely on!

Iv seen petitions on car club sites and in work places to sign to send to the government to get things changed, but people get sick of doing it so dont bother anymore. Theres even a group on Facebook for it. I havent signed up because I know nothing will ever get done!

Then shut up, you've thrown your right to complain in the bin too.

I agree that it is getting out of hand. But unsure how we can do anything. I personally wouldnt do anything like moving road blocks etc in the starlet, id spend 100 quid on a car i dont care about..

How.......i dont know. But its about time we did somthing.

the gas prices over here are becoming extremely high as well. Just in the last month they have gone up .35cents and have gone up over $2 from 2 years ago ($4.31 for 93 today)....Diesel is also up to almost $5/gal....which the price of diesel has never been higher then the price of standerd gas until now. Its killing the transportation industry, which increases their cost, in turn increasing cost for everything else across the board. its a shame. my work truck (diesel) with a 27 gal tank cost me over $130 to fill up, lasting me about a week.
