Plugged it in and hey presto the timing went to the 10 mark and from cold start up the idle dropped from 2000rpm to 1500rpm.

On driving it my misfires between 2000 and 3000rpm vanished, my kangarooing went away on low rpm driving also. Took it for a short blast, cause the roads are wet I put the boost down to 0.8bar which normally gave me full traction in the wet. Came on boost and the wheels instantly lost grip so theres more power there.

wow did the tps make that much difference? i have similar problems but not always... and last week u noticed that when i touch the TPS plug idle changes instantly and the car works different. JUST BY TOUCHING THE WIRES ON THE PLUG! so i could have a lose connection??

sorry for the hijack lol

certainly worth checking it out. BillyBob was up and is suffereing similar issues and he's redone the valve and ignition timing multiple times on his motor, so think he's going to try a different TPS. Will be interesting to see if it fixes his aswell.

I tried my car in the dry last night and its absolutly insaine now, 1 bar boost in 2nd gear is unusable now with wheelspin, used to be able to run near 1.3bar in damp conditions with very little spin.

can't believe I've been racing at the 1/4mile the last 2 or 3 months with a car in some sort of safe mode!

i have a video and i will post it up later. my issues are

- idle not stable.. most of the time even after a long drive it sits on 1.2k
- take of is shit.. i dont have power down low.
- pops fropm the exhaust between gearchange (dunno if it has to do with this)
- some small judering in revs

last time i set the tps seemed finemaybe its foked or somehow out again now? il have to re check it. did you use wheejhons method ?

Whats WeeJohns method?

Aye Animal, me and my brother where going up each months thinking right at least low 13's and then coming away scratching our heads baffled how adding 200ccs, cams, a big turbo and tons of boost was giving only a few hundreths of a second quicker times. Didn't seem like money well spent!

sry you had the plug off, so you didnt have to set it up again?

Aye the plug was right off. It's getting a full remap on the 5th, won't be on the road from now till then incase its not fueling right, the ignition timing is bang on 10degrees though. But it is now on the 5E markings and not the 4E so that'll through the map off a little I'd think.

allrite. goodluck bud :)

il try and get a timing light so i see if touching the plug is changing timing..

If the connection is faulty I'd say it'll effect it, unplugging it with the timing light on instantly put the timing off by a mile.

havnt read through all the thread, but did you say you have some cracks in the mani,

Aye theres multiple cracks, but turns out the car was running in a safe mode due to the TPS being unplugged and backing my timing off and making the car real lazy and was missing/juddering down in low RPMs.

New Mani ordered last week though.

I think you'd be better on the 4e timing marks, as thats the correct setup for turbocharged and lower compression.

HP is what you want for the track mate

Going to try it out both ways, both on the rollers and on the track. But for Drag it looks like torque plays a more important roll, if u can keep the traction of course.
