just got a call back off the insurers

apparently my current insurers wont insure me on that car because of what it is, but because i bought the policy through an insurance broker, they are trying else where for me

yep i would only get rev3 or higher..few things they changed that can make a difference.

www.imoc.co.uk should be a good place to start...my brother (mr2 specialist) is on there under skywalker if you want to ask him any questions!

Hi mate i own mr2 gts j plate. Its the insurance thats a killer cost triple to a starlet 2 insure. ave got after market lsd it makes a knockin noise on take of when u turn the steerin left or right in another words its f...... lol also check the suspension top mounts.definately not a winter car i feel more safe in the starlet.

Insurance depends on your age etc it would only cost me 50quid a year more for a gts turbo over my starlet!

I've always associated MR2's with nancy boys really :p

You wouldn't say that if you went for a spin in my Mk1 Mr2 mate... 3sgte with 250+ bhp on tap... hmmmm cant wait to get her back from the bodyshop!

If you do buy it and it does seem expensive to me a 5.5k then watch winter roads as so many get written off this time of year...

Check out models already in the UK, they wil be FAR cheaper, as in about £2k cheaper.

insurance wise, the OP is welcome to get in touch with me if he wants a quote

only if you drive like a complete tool!

You are wrong i'm afraid.. Mk2 tubbies have a bad reputation... you can spin them VERY easily. Thats why us mk1 boys like the winter as we buy the salvage and stick the motors into Mk1s... or v6 camry engines, but thats another story

after speaking to a few local people 5.5k is the absolute max for this car. and this spec. the car is already in the uk.

£5.5k is a rip off in my opinion. Its a great looking motor dont get me wrong.. whoever is selling it has stuck a couple of grand onto what should be the asking price. Best way to buy a Mr2 turbo is not from a trader..
