That's fair enough if you are aware of the risks, your number 3 piston will be getting lovely and warm though :S

Sorry Mike I thought Tim had said about it being stock...

I am with you on this one I would not feel happy running 1 bar on standard manifold.

When I changed from standard boost I went straight to 1 bar with all the supporting mods so what would you recommend I try and turn it down to??

I think 0.8 is pushing it a bit bearing in mind there is properly already damage done??

But quick question running 1bar on a stock manifold is that not pushing it a bit?? I would have thought trying set it to 0.8 would have been better until he get a new manifold????

Tim it does sound like your clutch is slipping but as long as you take it easy when the boost is turned down you have some leeway in replacing it.. Depending on what your plans are for the car will determine what sort of clutch you go for.

There are plenty of good mechanics in your area Seed is a very good person to talk to about finding a trust worthy one!!

With the new turbo it’s a really easy fix (I no I have been trough a few) if you need help finding a 2nd hand one just say. :)

Elaine,

I think I will need to find one. Help very much needed. I will speek to Syndey see who he recomends.

A compression test will show how bad any possible damage is... hopefully it'll be ok, after seeing how bad the stock mani is I would wanna swap the mani before upping the boost at all tbh, but if you stay inside fuel cut at around 0.75-0.8bar then I guess that can be considered as 'safe'

I am not selling it like it is to someone as there alot of GT's for sale and would struggle to sell it! It is my money and I am going to fix it ok Pete. Also it has just had full service inc cam belt change

im not saying dont fix it im sayin why dont you make sure every thing is ok with it put the boost to 0.8 bar then you wont need to spend like £375 on a manifold and actuator just seems to me your moding the car to sell it thats like me buying new alloys for mine and selling it a week later.

yea and u did exactly the same Pete but stuff you didnt and then sell it on later. I want my car to sell ok and if that means spending bit extra money on it so it stands out then i will ok!!!

Remeber I have been modding cars alot longer than you and sold modded cars and I know the market. I may not know alot on how to mod a car like mechanicaly but when it comes to sales thats where im strong!

Tim I don’t think Pete is trying to have a go at you we both offered you the same advice from the word go!!

WE told you that your tuner was giving you bad advice and that you should not take it so don’t have a go at Pete for now trying to help you out.

I disagree with Pete and think that the route your taking is the best one all round selling a car that you know is not as it should be is wrong end off..

So let’s sit to getting it fixed the handbag can be left at the door.

You have the list of things you need so now it just a case of getting them and us fitting them

As for a Manifold I think the best options are either the SPS one which I don’t think he currently has in stock or the one from Dave B :)

Thanks, well I think the stock manifold is ok for 1bar and i'm running 1.2bar on standard mani at the minute but have an aftermarket one to put on though also I have a Jam ECU so the rich the tune the safer the engine. :p As long as you check the mani for cracks etc when you have a look at the car then I wouldnt see a prob running 1bar and it will help sell the car.
Glad your getting it sorted out Tim because that other mechanic was taking the hand. And ladies put your handbags away, if he wants to spend money on the car to ensure its in good condition for the new owner then he can also it will help sell the car. Good luck with the fix and sale;)
