Right i need some advice. My EX dumb ass mechanic tuned my car to 182 bhp at 1.5 bar on standard turbo yea i know this is stupid before i get people saying this to me but he said the stock turbo can handle this and worked on GT's previously that handled this power. But it has been working fine for last 2 months but started to notice that at 5k revs it judders goes to 4k then back to over 5k revs.

Also exhaust is smoking blue and black smoke but it does not feel down on power. Does anyone know someone in Portsmouth area I can have this looked at as I am selling car at end of month and want it to be mint for the next owner. I fear i blown pistons or turbo :(

The mechanic came highly recommened and he sent the car to a tuners in Horsham (which now gone bankrupt) I got 200 quid under the desk at my mechanics as I gave him 1500 quid cash to get my car fast and my bill was 1300 yet he wont give it back and wont order me any parts and just says he is busy call later. Getting so fed up now!!

1.5bar is most definately going to kill stock pistons quickly, along with the turbo itself. the blue/black smoke could just be the turbo has shat itself already under the boost level.

How long have you ran it at 1.5bar? and is it using any oil?

Just over 2 months now. elaine did tell me last month to sort it out but i ignored her (now regretting this decision) not using ne oil and there is nothin in the coolant to suggest gasket gone or in the oil cap.

It has been fine now for over 2 months with no issues but car only gets run at weekends for few hours. im gutted

right ok, would see about getting a compression test done on the motor anyway to check the rings are still intact. The smoke is likely to be oil seals if its been run at that kinda boost. After a run if you leave it idling does it smoke? or smoke all the time?

on idle there is no smoke on when its boostin. I will have to find somewhere that does a compression test.

any garage should be able to test it for you. if its using no oil then thats a good sign :) any sign of oil coming from the BOV?

1.5 bar on ct9? thats way out of the compressor map. max is about 1.1 bar before it just creates more heat and not more boost. is it like a missfire?

ta :)

sounds like you may have just gotten away with some fubar oil seals, would get it compression tested for piece of mind if your going to be selling it :)

EDIT: not to mention turn the boost down asap :p

No misfire nothing. Engine bay has been getting very very hot though.

It has been back firing but only doine it few times when been stuck in traffic and then slowly moved (if you get me)

I really am getting worried I damaged car why oh why did I not listen to elaine :(

I only realised it was boosting to 1.5bar when im looked at boost gauge and boost controller which read 1.51

I wont sell it untill its 100% as i not like that. will get it tested. Ill ask around see who does it in Pompey area

dunno, keep your eye out on the forum, a rebuild is gonna be a couple of hundred I should imagine. Only go hybrid if thats what you want! if your selling the car it wouldn't make much sense imo...
