because we run a clean show here and wouldnt allow you trade... now suddenly the site is crap

Heres a bandwagon for you to jump on

Bandwagon%20Final.jpg

lol

seriously come on guys, this site is hardly a bad site, i love coming on here and getting helped with my problems, and helping others with there problems.

the rules are there to stop it from getting clogged with shit.

and whoever said the old forum was a more stable system.......

are you serious?? plank.

the old site was constantly crashing, and sometimes for days.

this site has crashed a handful of times and for only a couple of minutes.

i spend most of my life on here (im very sad) and i am appalled at some peoples comments.

if there was some constructive critiscism in some of those posts it wouldnt be to bad.
dont take out your petty and childish anger on the mods, they do more than enough good on this site and it's all voluntary, no ones perfect, and sometimes mistakes are made, there human.

so just one final question,

if it's really that bad guy's why not fuck off?

and remember that our paid membership money basically goes nowhere!

it would probly pay the mods super mods admin about 0.1p a hour for the moderating they do!

which is crap given they have to come and read unappreciative threads like this every so often!

its being used to pay for the site.

macker now has to pay a much higher rate for the server, and i assume its a rather large ammount that needs to be paid otherwise i'm sure macker (as with the old site) if it was a small some of money he would just stick his hand in his own pockets, to stop all the morons on this site moaning about paying to be a member.

i really dont think £6 per annum is a lot of money for the ammount of help you get from this site.

without this site would you be able to repair your car as easily as you have?

where else would you meet all those people that have helped you find parts.

come on guys look at the big picture,

EDIT: this post was in reply to jamesbaa, post wherever its gone

all i can say is,ever since there was a certain feature in banzai magazine, there has been a lot of knobs attracted to this site who do nothing but give shit advice and talk gibberish about topics they havnt a clue about.

The pictures could be placed in the photo arena, which we set up due to users wanting somewhere to post pics. They could have been put in the chillout area and everyone would have commented.

fair enough, but rather than this being pointed out, it was simply locked and moved to the muppet room with nothing more than a blunt comment (at first)

on the whole though, i think the site is run well :)

fair point...

In the lads defense I posted a very brief comment in our staff area recently that sounded a bit harsh but was due to me rushing through a pile of work and only getting a few seconds to reply briefly. The moderator I was responding to took offence to my comment because it was like a "no" without much explanation.

It would be great to have time to post very detailed responses but sometimes the person in question is just rushing on doing a bit and then heading off.

I cant fault Frankie in any way shape or form... the guy does the project of the month and submits the article for the newsletter which he spends a great deal of time on and he is a total asset to the site in general.

Good point though

paid members car threads are only for the paid members themselves.

it was actually Kelly's comment that i thought was a bit blunt.

again, not having a go at all so don't take it the wrong way peeps, just thought it could have been handled a lil' bit better :)

Just a quick question, what happens if you have more than one car??

If you’re a paid member can you still only have one thread?

Dub-Se7en

Lifer
no but it's one car per thread as far as i know. so you'd just start another one, like Jay and his trackstar, auto, and (lovely) mk1

Not to take the attention away from this site or anything, but it's nice to see that people on here can talk about problems in a sensible manner and everyone is entitled to voice their opinion. On our Local cruise site, if anyone steps out of line, threads are locked, posts are deleted and people are given warnings. Hell, we arn't even allowed a suggestion forum because it will 'encourage arguing', and aparantly the admin team have thought about everything but if we do have a suggestion we should Pm an admin so the 'admin team' can discuss it. It's like being in fucking nazi Germany.

But yeah, you should all be appreciative you're allowed to voice your concerns, and have them taken on board, by what I can see, is a very good admin team.

Chears Dylan for the kind words,

In Response to Jay Starting a Thread : I was just about to message jay and ask him what the craic was with that thread and then i noticed the member commented on the thread and was a paid member so i left it off. Just figured that Jay was giving him a hand starting his thread. If anyone asked me to do the same i would have no bother in doing so.

In Response to Members with more than 1 car : the rules state that " You are permitted one thread per car. It is your thread on your car so keep it on topic and clean. " so if you are the owner of 3 or 4 cars then you can have 3 or 4 topics one for each car. to be honest i wouldn't differentiate between a G/F, B/F, Friend or Brother/Sister. It would be unfair of me to do so i think. So if a thread says " this belongs to...... " then it gets treated the same no matter if it says Brother, mother, uncle or Friend Etc. after.

I have no problem with people posting up a couple of pictures in the Photo section just as long as it doesn't resemble a car thread. Alot of people complained at the start saying " What are paid members getting " and then some of the original commenters have suddenly turned around and complained even thought their privileges are being protected.

If anyone else want's to disscuss it with me i'll be glad to clear up anything, Add me on MSN ( corbett_frank@hotmail.com ) and we can have a chat.

It looks as if there are around 400 paid members on this forum or more. So thats around £2400 at least (Not taking into account that traders pay £100 per year?)

So well over £3000

I'm not sure an SQL server, unlimited bandwidth and £80 forum software quite add up to that amount.

But...

The time and effort people have put into this site is clearly visible, it's a growing community unlike most of the others due to the nature of this car.

I think administration of the site is the most important aspect, the mods needs to enforce rules and redulations to filter out the crap. This never happened before, the forum was filling with trash. This will save people like me looking at it and posting a sarcastic response and causing trouble :p I'm not interested in helping people that aren't willing to search, read or help themselves.

Well i didn't mean to sound blunt, but i was just getting straight to the point as i was rather busy. I locked the thread and seeked further advice off another moderator as i was unsure of what to do. Like pointed out above didnt want anyone saying "one rule for one and another for others" and so on.
We generally say photos of cars in photo section anything contain spec and mods and pics etc is classed as a project page which is for our paid members.

tbh i find all her comments a bit blunt but hey im sure shes sound.. just a few times ive been a bit like hey chill out lol

i think your over exaggerating i seriously doubt that all my comments are blunt. Maybe when i'm having to moderate certain threads quickly before i go to work or if you dont like what you're reading but i guess thats your opinion.

fair enough i understand you got a job to do, was having a bit of a bad day lol i take it back.

i think everyone is doing a good job and unfortunately however annoying it is, i agree with the mods on this one.

if they just let one person do this and another do that, then itll be chaos and nobody will know the rules.

theres no harm in dr psi having to start another one for his gfs car?

makes it easier

as already stated pictures are welcome in the photo section. Just make sure it doesnt get turned into a 'project thread' as such.

Its very sad reading the opinions on moderators i speak for all i think when i say that we give up alot of spare time to help out on here. And alot of the stuff is mind numbing, going through pages and pages of old threads deleting, saving, moving.
I try my best to organise shows and meets RR days etc in my area. And i have to do all before or after work as i have no net access at work.

At least we have all learned something from this thread.
