I think he should follow his heart.

He is going to lose money either way, longer he leave it the more he will lose depending on time.

Lack of performance with higher running costs really is a hard one to swallow, even thou it is not all about speed. I'm sure the Civic is a better car 'all round' compared to a Starlet. Interior, build etc etc.

But if you just can't bond with a car and you find it boring then sometimes you just have to do what feels right.

thats a good point Gee.. when I got my avensis I didnt think I liked it... had that feeling for about 2 weeks and wanted my mondeo back but eventually ended up loving it. Performance obviously wasnt a factor there though and I still had my glanza for weekends.

As for the money he will lose.. after driving it off the lot he has lost the bulk of what he will lose this year on it so for the next few months it wont be dropping much more month on month I wouldnt think so maybe he has a little bit of time to see if he bonds better with it.

Having just spent the past day and a half driving a new celica thats where my money would have gone.. on a couple of year old celica.

Yeah, probabaly best to stick with it another month or so and see how he likes it. Things can grow on you.

Thanks to all for your help and kind comments. The car feels nicer than the starlet build wise but just not as much fun! Its a completely different car though to the GT so cant really compare. I am off to TGM in Fleet Hampshire on Saturady to talk to my mates tuners to see what I can do to make it bit more fun. i have been suggested a fast road set up which should put smile back on my face.

Its going back to honda with regards to the oil as even my dad was a bit concerned and more bad news on Sunday was driving out of a morrisons car park when a heard a ching ching noise coming from under th car like somethin has sheared off :mad: :mad: no ideas what it was but Honda going to look at it!

I have brought a Alpine DVD double din head unit for car so far lol!!

I am going to make up my mind saturday so if TGM cant pursuade me to keep it its to the lonely hearts club of piston heads she goes!! :( :(

I did have a ibiza FR diesel as my company car and tbh with new fuel prices there is not much of a difference.

I been looking on piston heads and cant find anything that really shouts buy me buy me!! I looked at an exige but 1.cant afford car, 2. cant afford insurance lol.

If I sell it will be for Audi A3 im thinking!! I been talking to the gf and am trying to get her to sell her Y reg 1.2 club corsa for either VXR astra/corsa or a glanza and ill have the more practical car but she is having non of it!! :(

I had a golf gt tdi and the current price of fuel there wasnt much in it from owning my current glanza.
I work at Bmw could hook you up with some nice discount:):)
What model of A3 are you interested in?

I would just go for A3 Sline 2.0Litre. Only bemmer I would go for is a new 320/325 coupe (with indicators lol!) but they well out of price range.

My mates gotta 2.0ltr diesel s line and man the interior is lush especially the seats. And the bose stereo sounds awesome.
Petrol i take it?

Yea I would have petrol one in white! But I am waiting till saturday till I make my decision thanks anyway!

Has my car finally run in??? :confused:

I was driving back last night from work to the GF's house through some country lanes. As I was taking a corner in second gear the car just opened up and went like bat out of hell!!! It was so much fun and so axilerating. It put back that smile and I mean I had a massive smile. When i picked misses up from work she said why you smiling so much what you brought lol!!! Told her and she was over joyed that now she dont have to sell her corsa hahah (yet!!)

I dont look at the car in a great way but the thrill it gave me has put the car back in my good books for now!!

if i was you mate i would find out if it were possible to upgrade to jdm engine spec. the jdm spec one has 222bhp (not 197) and 158 lb ft torque( not 139).

more powerful and more torquey. evo tested a 4 door one. the us is getting this version officiallly imorted. could just be a remap, could be much more.

Insurance so much more for JDM i pay 980 fully comp for my Type R GT whereas a JDM is over 2200 a year fully comp so sod that for extra few horses. would rather charge it!!
