bet his diesel would leave urs ;)

He would be in 4th gear while I'm stretching out 2nd...

Changing at 5,000rpm on a diesel engine FTW!

( Not :D )

Just messing with ya mate. Just would never own a diesel as a performance car.

well its been over a month now and i can safley say that I am no longer enjoying the CTR as much as I originally hoped :(

It is costing tons in fuel, oil etc and well when I drive to Bristol for uni on friday the M4 is packed with old men driving them!! They are not as fun as I thought it would be and may consider selling soon! :(

had my ep3 (55 plate) type r for almost a month now too and i am very happy with it. it chews my (stock apart from apexi exhaust and bailey bov) glanza up and spits it back out for joke time and time again. it's better on fuel than my glanza and also as for the seats not being as good in the ep3, mine has the recaro's (final edition spec) and i think they're better than the seats in the new shape. i'm suprised you don't like the car though fella, i thought you'd love it but from what you've said i'm glad i decided to go for the ep3 now.

good luck with whatever you decide to do with it anyway mate.

i do a fair bit of motorway driving and i think the 2.0 engine copes with 80 - 85 mph constantly better than the 1.3. round town there's not much in it but on the motorway the type r is deffinately better. a newer engine is gonna be more economical anyway in most cases i'd of thought.

I can get over 250miles per tank with motorway driving easy and the Starlet tank only takes about 35 litres?

Cheers guys its just been a disspointment to be honest! It seems to take an age to get to 5.5k revs before vtec kicks in but then it does sound lush and goes pretty well after that.

It was alot of money and should have shopped around first if time was not on my hands when i had brought it and needed a new car within 4 weeks for work i would have had more time to decide.

I am fed up seeing older men driving them lol and people saying they not as good or fun as the previous shape! Also at higher speeds it feels very wobbly and unsafe :(

I am going to give it another month and see if it can pursuade me otherwise or its pistonheads she goes and ill go for something else

dont sell it ffs.. will be impressed if you get 13k or so for it.. and stop sticking it above 5.5k if you want to save fuel :D :D

well some lowering springs would sort the wobbleness and a piece of wood under the accellerator would keep your fuel bills down :p

as for the ctr eating up the glanza and spitting it I still haave to see that ! in standard yes it would as it wouldnt make sence that a 135bhp car beat a 180bhp one! but given the slight mod to the glanza or gt (actuator , manifold and 10psi boost ) and the starlet would be eating the ctr for breakfast and shitting it out not spitting it! I have been racing some of them and it was really an easy job and i have nothing major!:drive:

I didnt wanna say, but i went round Knockhill in one and was majorly dissappointed. I had a 318Ti compact beemer at the time and i sweat it was 10x the car that new civic is.

Its just a big, modern heavy car with the same power as the old model. My near-ish standard Starbo pulls away from them

EK9 is by far the best CTR out there!

I am not heavy on the foot as I cant afford to keep filling car up every 5 mins the fuel economy is just crap in it in general! I have seen them going for about 16k with same milege as mine (its only 6 weeks old!)

what one have you got? gt? you got to remember you loose 20pc pretty much as soon as you drive it off mate.

a car is only worth what someone will pay for it....

the ctr is 197bhp actually not 180 but you have to consider power to weight ratio - the cicic weighs 1550 kg so that extra 62bhp istn't much when you consider the extra weight. i love my glanza and i wanted it to keep up with my ctr believe me but it just couldn't. i am mearly stating a fact that my ctr chewed up and spat back out my STOCK glanza.

also, 0-60 times for both cars are listed as roughly the same (6.8 ish) that's why i am suprised my ctr blew my glanza.

stock glanza = fail lol.. your never going to beat a ctr with it stock.. and im sorry a v's figures are nowere near 6.8.. will be more like 7.5 to 8..

and my gt has battered countless ctr's (EP3's) when it was on the road running ct9, standard boost, filter and exhaust.. i also ran 14.9 qtr with that set up.. dont think a civic will be doing that lol!!!!

I dont agree with that. My friend had a Glanza and the ep3 Type r could not pull away untill they were getting into 4th and even then not very convincing

Also the Type R's that i have seen have been on the rolling road and only produced around 180bhp.

Let's try and keep this on topic without a Honda versus Toyota battle..

Sorry to hear you aren't enjoying yourself as much as you'd hoped mate. I never knew they drank oil TBH, how much are you feeding it?

Jesus. Never realised that before.

So they drink more oil than a rotary then!

To be fair it is a great looking car and you must have a lot of envious mates Timmy. I would focus on the good points and try to see the minor hassles as part of the experience, means you would enjoy it more mate.
