any 2.0l 16v engine in a sub 1ton car will be pretty nippy ;)

the n/a mr2's do actually have a bit of poke!...have got a n/a Automatic in at the moment to strip as its a cat b. still drives though, was good fun to say the least!
anyway back on topic,
reading thru the whole topic again it looks like the tubby is the only thing that hasnt been tried, so just to elimiate it i think it should b tried

yeah but jules its quite a costly thing to try, say it isnt the turbo? then ive wasted money.... wouldnt it be better to get a proffesional opinion then at least i will know for a fact what the problem is.....?

yes mate i said about a page ago that you could borrow a turbo!
ill talk to my brother and see what he says about getting it too you etcetc.
the one we have at the moment is a ct26 hybrid, the ct26 not being the better of the 2 turbos but we know for definate that it works?

sound alright?

Ah thanks julesy boy.....! I didnt realize that what you meant mate......

problem with the CT26 is the flange is different..... If possible would be perfect to just get a stock CT20 and go from there... and hybrid meaning being able to run even more boost? fuuck that, i'll kill myself after feeling what 1.25 Bar felt like... plus i'll blow a ring or something......

ah right,
ill have a check again today with him and see what is what,as i was under the impression that the car it came off was a rev3, maybe diff manifold on there or somthing. anyway ill check for you
the hybrid can take about 1.4 bar btw!!

weve got a couple of cars in atm, im sure well sort you out,

Have you taken the downpipe off and checked the wastegate and exhaust impeller?

A few months back I had a total loss of boost accompanied by some very high pitched screaming from the turbo instead of the usual whistle. I took the downpipe off and found this...

I'm wagering that because the IC piping seems fine, the turbo is at fault. Either the wastegate or exhaust impeller is borked, causing a spooling noise but no boost.

Yeah the CT26 Can be fitted onto the rev 3 mani but with a flange adapter of some sort......

Keeping it simple and standard set up for the moment... the CT26 is smaller.... even though it looks massive.... weird....

@monkfish.... Yeah, i took everything off mate! Both shafts are completely fine mate, thats the weird thing about it, although ive beeb told by both my tuner AND another very good source, jules bro which is also a specialist that sometiems the bearing in the actual turbo go that we cant see causing no smoke or anything... is must be the turbo..... as the car drives fine.....

well if thats the case u should have alot of shaft play...i know when my gt28 shat itself the shaft play was crazy as the turbo.civic guy pointed out..and it didnt smoke, happened instantly and made noise with no boost.

Either that or somethings up with your wastegate...the turbo looks fine tho..try a new actuator or something..
