The thing is, the police are pressured into disshing out penalties by their superiors. It looks good for statistics, as speeding is a crime, and when it comes to numbers speeding = 1 crime just like murder = 1 crime. They catch you and give you points = crime solved.

I got court doing that, but got let off as I wasn;t from the area and the sign was partially blocked by a tree, at 3am. I was breathalised and let on my way.

Mines the same sito,the shortcuts i normally take, they have made some of roads exits one way. the officer was abit of a prick, didnt wanted to hear my side of the story.

the worst thing is nowadays if you only had your lisence a few years,

if you get 6 points before youve passed a 2 year time period, you get banned and you have to retake your practical and theory tests which is ridiculous!!

when i had a moped i used for work a copper tryed to give me 60 quid fine and 3 points for no L plates, bloody idiot didnt no the rules, if you have a full car lisence you can legally drive a 50cc moped without l plates.

luckily it got dropped and i got a full written apology haha adam 1 police 0

but yeah 6 points is nothing, 1 speeding a 1 bald tyre etc and you have to start all over again!!

Nah, tis 12 points then byebye licence, or 6 points in the first 2 years of driving

The good news is that a few points (depending on the offence) is a very common thing and does not have much of an impact with insurers.. if you pick the right one

young people arent all idiots mate, and from the stories on here like dan taking a picture you could quite easily fuck your life up for a year just because of a stupid rule?

ok i can agree with maybe 6 points but having to retake both theory and practical lessons after the ban also? its just stupid
