dont get crank reground unless it needs it,
do get it all balanced (makes a lot of difference)
the cams are fine, i havnt seen a set of stock cams that dont have a couple of those tiny tiny chips (i think there from casting )
you dont have to do any head work but it is recomended, dont just port the inlet and exhaust side, it's pointless unless you actually enlarge the valve throats also, dont polish the exhaust side or the inlet side it is actually bad to do so.
you dont have to upgrade the main bolts, i have seen anyone break the stock ones yet and i'm running 240whp with no issues, @ 1.6bhp, upgrades are available though.
do get arp headbolts
you dont have to get the toyota full gasket set, you can get perfectly good engine sets from the aftermareket, i am using one and so are 3 of the pp crew's engines, so far without any issue. if you do get either the toyota one or an aftermarket one you wont need any extra gaskets.
