I won't comment on how quick they are cos I've never driven one, but is that with the B16A engine? If so, thats 170HP in a light car and I'm sure they'd be fairly quick!

:)I take it you are talking about the EG6 model? it was a 1992- 1995 car, quite low looking. Thats the one I had.
Got a EK9 type R with a B16B engine and 2 Glanzas now

just bought the EK9 today and that has the B16B which has 15HP more then the B16a... both SIR and EK9 weighs the same and i can say from experience the EK9 pulls MUCH harder then an EP and providing driven properly in peak power Vtec it will shame a GT on a long run.....

SIR would be quicker then a stock GT me thinks...... Not alot, but a bit.....

You lucky git, nice buy mate! Get some pictures up. :)

The B16A and B16B are the same power though. A comes from the EG and the B comes from the VTI EK Civics. The EK9 has something else, B16C or something, not exactly sure. That's the one with the extra 15bhp or so.

B16A1 has 150BHP, the B16A2, found most commonly in the EG VTi and EK VTI has 160BHP, the B16A is the 170BHP engine found in JDM models, the B16B is the Type R engine as said before, this is due to more agressive VTEC cam, pre-VTEC the engine output is pretty much the same as eachother, its when the VTEC cam is engaged the Type R cam means it makes more power due to higher lift.

Another website to look on is Civiclife, and also Hondaevolutions is a site for all Honda owners, and also might be worth having a look on the Integra DC2 forums as you will find many DC2 Integra bits will fit the Civics.. My old EG track car was mainly made up of DC2 bits, including steering rack, brakes, etc etc..

ok you guys are all half right.

the b16b is in fact the ek9 civic type r motor its like 185hp

it is not just cams at all...you are not going to gain 15 n/a hp by swaping cams. they disigned the b16b off a destroked b18c hence why it revs higher than the standard sir which is 170hp b16a2 is 160hp out of u.s. SI and i think a few other europeon models vti? I guess is what you guys are saying...I only mess with USDM and jdm. so idk about that. and im pretty sure the a1 has 160 as well...its just obd1 vs the a2 is obd2. correct me if im wrong!

even the old jdm crx's and other ef's had 160hp im sure cuz thats what honda was all about with the dohc vtec's at least 100hp/liter back in the 80's you had the sir which was 160hp and the sir2 which was 170hp!
