Basically long and short of it, the EK9 Civic Type R is the more powerful one, and the one with better handling bits as compared to the EK4 SIR, the Civic EG the SIR2 was the best.
The SIR was only brought out in JDM land, most we had here is the VTi and a "limited edition" Jordan, which is a VTi anyway but in yellow, limited to 500 and had jordan on the seats, and different alloys.. code for this is EK4.
Having driven a EG with a B16A2 (VTi engine) on track and sat passenger in a Civic EG with a B16B (Engine pulled out of the EK9 CTR) the B16B would blow mine out the water, even though it had me as ballast! These cars are not slow, but they were built for twisties not drag.. at the end of the day Honda cars are famous for having no toque :lol:
