The JDM versions are all SIR's I think, which are 170 bhp.
The UKDM versions are the 160 bhp models.

hmmm idk like I said not to sure about the ukdm her in the us all we has is the si. 160 for the 99-00 and its a coupe...the eg's si's we have is 125hp 1.6L sohc with like 110tq good ass motors for boost though. they are equivalint to the b15b sohc 1.5L which is 130hp and like 104tq.

Yeah has 185BHP and is a very quick little car... 0-60mph is like 5.7 seconds, and its believable the way it shifts to 60.... savage little car for N/A....
And the handling is out of this fucking world!

After owning one now i agree man, they are fucking great!
Im not dissing the starlet at all here(as i do own one and love it to bits) but the GT as stock/even tuned as a whole package and feel/ride quality/balance/safety/quality of the car as a whole etc isnt half the car an eK9 is/.... I can imagine this with the tegs too......
I own both so i can comment... there is no comparison. You would have to drive one around for a while to compare.....
Starlets can be tuned very well and handle great but they do lack alot of something when comparing the two cars.....

I have been in a civic type r ek9 as well as an integra type r and there is no way the civic type r did 0-60 in 5.7 secs it's impossible for a car with as low a torque figure to do that time the integra type r was faster but all the ek9's I have seen and they are quite rare are doing 15's saw one doing those times everytime at the 4 and rotary nats back in January 2008 down meremere and get pissed on by lots of other cars around Pukekohe at superlap has anyone seen the vid of the integra type r vs type r civic on youtube? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4XZ1XKPF1U

Basically long and short of it, the EK9 Civic Type R is the more powerful one, and the one with better handling bits as compared to the EK4 SIR, the Civic EG the SIR2 was the best.
The SIR was only brought out in JDM land, most we had here is the VTi and a "limited edition" Jordan, which is a VTi anyway but in yellow, limited to 500 and had jordan on the seats, and different alloys.. code for this is EK4.
Having driven a EG with a B16A2 (VTi engine) on track and sat passenger in a Civic EG with a B16B (Engine pulled out of the EK9 CTR) the B16B would blow mine out the water, even though it had me as ballast! These cars are not slow, but they were built for twisties not drag.. at the end of the day Honda cars are famous for having no toque :lol:

I remember seeing some go around superlap they were getting passed on all the straights but did quite well around the corners the type r's are cars designed for track days not straight line speed I can't see where the 5.7 sec time to 96 km/h comes from as the turbo ones over here are just a tiny bit faster than that quoted time a stripped out racing one would be doing that time with cams, intake, exhaust but not a standard one
