A big thanks to you all for your support, I don't know how I would of managed to get over it with out your encouragement. I have her back now...It's MUCH worse than i thought, but the one thing is that it's still perfectly driveable, so the mechanical side of things is business as usual...it's just the windscreen, roof and door tops that are totally screwed. The engine still sounds sweet as a nut.

Wow, some people are heartless lol.

ToyotaGTTurbo.com has changed recently, quite a lot too.

Hope you get your car sorted DriveR, or get another and transfer bits over. I feel for you, especially with it being such a silly mistake :( We've all made them, and iits just pot luck whether or not you get away with it.

Thanks guys, I really need another car ASAP I think...so the likelihood of me going on another starlet escapade is low I'm afraid. Just doesn't fit in with my life at the moment regrettably. SOooooooooooooo annoyed as she's been my project all these years, I've been building her up from the inside out, the icing on the cake was going to be a respray in a particularly menacing yellow, with my wheels sprayed black, and my CF bonnet fitted. Just had fuelling, ECU, FMIC and setting up on the dyno left to go enginewise.......Damn!!!!

Thats very true, its very easy to make silly mistakes while drivng. its near impossible to keep good concentration all the time but all that matters in the end really is the fact that your not injured:)

cars can be replaced:rockon:

I guess for most people a bright yellow bar right in front of them might do the trick? Too many people in this country try to palm the blame off for their own stupid mistakes, and no offence Rob, but this was a stupid mistake. I won't be able to walk up stairs without a sign before every step soon! Maybe braile signs for the "blind" drivers though, or maybe a massive "here be a bright yellow bar in front of you" siren.

what a fucking dick head you sound like. If you have nothing positive to contribute at a time when Rob has just totally destroyed his car then why bother? Wow the first time I get to use the negative Rep button.

Rob dont worry mate things like this happen to all of us at one point or another. I know you will come back with something bigger and better and you are not the type to let this sort of thing keep you down.

Thanks Dylan, I appreciate your reassurance mate. Everytime I look out the window and see her smashed up like that....ahhhh, it cuts right through me. That car saved my life, no doubt about it.

well do yourself a favour man.. when things like that have ever happened to me I immediately plan my next move. so rather than look out the window and think "damn look at my car" you are looking out thinking "end of an era cant wait for the next step" get your ass in gear and get something that will make the smart asses eat their words :) onwards and upwards my good man!

Personally I like the idea of doing a conversion on a UK car :)

Its gutting when summat like this happens to your pride and joy, i smashed into someones rear end in my first GT. Got screwed by the insurance, it was my fault not checking my insurance documents corectly. I had to sell it couldnt afford to fix it at that time, but as gv1.3 says look forward man. A few months down the line i ended up we a nice Glanza v

would the insurance peeps eat me alive for converting a uk starlet to GT spec? Hmmm I need to get some money either for the car as a whole, or to sell the parts in order to cover the cost of buying another car....i need transport really....wish i'd of taken by damn bike test before my CBT ran out now, as i could of picked up a cheap motorbike for the time being.....but in all fairness...there are plenty of cheaper cars about i guess....Hmmm

Well, here's what i did to the love of my life.....

Oh shit, that was close to your head!

For a few hundred quid you could get that repaired.

Just get the Roof and pillars cut of a spare/old shell and get it welded to your car!

You'l be able to get that done easily and it'l be cheaper than a new car. It'l be as good as new again :)
