Something Awful happened to me last night...

Yeah believe me, i know how lucky i am...i did take a fair bash to the head, but it wasn't too bad....well, i was so shocked surprised i didn't really feel the pain of the blow...just the after effects. Amazement, then anger, and embarassment was what i felt.

The guy who dropped it off owned the recovery place, and he said i should make it into a convertible. How cool would a convertible GT be, man, it would cost mega-bucks though, and i can't afford that right now.

my god dude that was a close call!

These cars really do fold up like tin cans. I dont know if the car saved your life or nearly cost you it!

I know, it's almost like its made of rubber....so pliable that metal. But to be fair, that barrier was big and obviously MUCH more dense....could of stopped the bloody Titanic from rolling down there...just can't believe i didn't see it...i just didn't expect it above all, my defenses were down...[insert further excuse here]

Holy crap! That's the most unluckiest lucky thing I think I've seen!

Just appreciate the fact you're in one piece mate... Cars can be replaced, heads can't...

jesus, thats so much worse than i was expecting! really makes you think, if you was doing another 5mph or so! How fast was you going anyway, not very fast id guess going down a carpark ramp?

And what if you had the seat further forwards, god you're un/lucky

just a note for starlet Sam: I now know what you mean and that it wasnt directed at the dude and you know his pain after doing damage to a car yourself (Ive done it too). Wasnt calling you a dick head cause you know I like your sarcasm etc usually just meant the post made you sound like a dick head. Anyway back to counting DriveRs blessings!!

As others have said that damage is a lot worse than i was expecting!

Obviously you've got some terrible luck there, but at the same time you're damn lucky to walk away from that one virtually unscathed!

Ouch!!

Your lucky though!

If you decide to repair it, we got a breaker lying about which you could cut all that section off.

DriveR see i was right that car protected you the best the lil starbo could! These cars really do crumble, thats why it shocks me so much when ppl remove crash bars etc etc to fit stuff, i had an accidnet at arounf 10mph in mine and the front end crumbled its quite scary!

Yeah I agree with you all, I'm basically bloody unlucky with the circumstances, but at the same time lucky as anything for walking away from it with no serious injuries...if I had of been going faster...well, the outcome would be obvious eh! There'd be reports in the paper of sightings of a headless starletman haunting the car park at night.....hmmm I'm talking rubbish, must of been that bump to the head!

Yep it did its best to protect me for sure Kelly, and was succesful....but yes it is shocking how they crease and crumple.

Cheers for the offer Irdees, I haven't got the time and resources for any kind of "Starlet de la cabriolet" action though, I was thinking of selling up this year anyway for something larger which would suit my scenario better, so I guess this incident is gonna push me to do that a lot sooner than I'd expected.

If anyone wants to give my baby a new home for spares/goodies, or some whacky kind of project let me know.

Dear lord..

I know you are counting this as an unlucky incident Rob but luck was completely on your side - that could have been game over.
