speedvision hybrid turbo rr result

it's a hoffman (something like that ) rolling road.

there flywhell figures are generally quite high, but thats still an awsome result mate.

what was it at the wheels, from memory you lose about 50 bhp on that dyno at the wheels, so should be about 190@ the wheels, sounds very impressive, i might have to get myself one of these.

also EA tend to tune road cars extremely safe so theres prob even more in it.

thanks lads. if im been honest. i dont think its a geniune 232..but it goes really well on the road.and thats what matters to me anyway. sx turbo yeh mate think its losing loads though the wheels. 50+hp which is hell of alot. u would thinks its a 4x4 lol.. i do think its a geniune 200+ though. and @ 14.5psi thats preety good. soppose a gd tell tale sign would be to take it on the strip and c what terminals im getting.

Figures aren't everything mate, it's how it feels on the road. Sounds very impressive and your obviously very happy with it, good result.:)

just a little update having driven it abit more. turbo's doing fine no smoke.done about 800miles now.. but i really dont think its making that power at all. if im been honest feels more like 170/180. on a private road we do a little test. from 1 sign to another. from the 1st sign u put ur foot down at 30mph. and what ever speed u make it to the next sign. i did this today and got 108/109 mph. and a thew days ago with my old ct9 with 8psi. no uprated manifold. i got 103.so basicaly im going pass this sign about 5mph quicker then my old set up. which must of been about 140/150hp now on my old starlet with a tdo5 unichip ect.that was making 221hp and was passing that sign about 113mph. thinking of taking it on another rollers c what its making. and maybe uping the boost 18psi

Take it to a Dyno Dynamics rolling road and ask for a power run, but tell them you have no clue what it is running and see what you get.

I'd personally stick it on a Turbo Dynamics, but all of the RR's can vary anyway and conditions can affect the output on the day.

theres rs in leeds, i took mine there, i got 185 and 180 torques, i would be very interested to see what you got there cos that figure does sound a bit on the high side ok alot on the high side.i`ve got blitz k1, blitz ic, powerfc, decat etc etc at 1 bar.

Wheel horse power is under 180hp so there is a rather big calculated power loss through the transmission at around 29%

I'd take the result with a pinch of salt, but as long as your happy with how it goes on the road thats all that really matters.;)

re

not sure if the dyno's calculated the loss?or my actual car is losing that through the transmision?? i do have 16"s but im not sure how much u lose through bigger wheels?

29% sounds alot to me - 4wd lose that not 2wd, i dont know how the dyno can work out transmission losses - i dont think they can, i think you would have to find out off the manufacturer, hmmm i think big wheels helps fly horsepower but you lose torque, correct me by all means if i`m wrong just done a 12 hour shift so my heads a bit dizzy

that flywheel figure is just pulled out of the sky, as others have said take that with a pinch of salt.

imo just spend 30 quid to get a power run again.

if it feels good on the road though then thats all that counts.

from my experiance Engine Advantages will tune the car extremely safe, i was surprised you got that power knowing this.

but as stated if it feels good on the road i wouldnt worry to much.

im not sure mate? has anyone else took ther car there? and what loss are they making through the wheels?

i had the same transmission loss.

sadly my car got written off before i could try any where else.

the transmission loss definately shouldnt be that much mate

great torque figure though
