not that i'm advising this, but get a mate that you can trust to get in the car put it in first with the handbrake on, and then put some load on it. look under the bonnet at same time, from the side to be safe and check for a leak, also could put bricks etc in front of the wheels.
If your car is not boosting you have either; a broken actuator and the wastegate is completly open but you wouldnt get the whistling noise as much or you have a boost leak.
My money is on boost leak unless you have a garage with a light you couldnt have checked them properly because it is dark and you wernt away for long enough to take all the boost pipes off.
My advice is to you;
Go out when its light
Remove the intercooler and the pipe which goes onto the turbo held on with 2 12mm bolts
remove the throttle body pipe too
Inspect throughly all pipes and intercooler
re-fit back together and I bet it will be fine.
Failing that remove the circlip on your actuator/turbo and check there is still some resistance when you try to put the actuator arm back on the wastegate.
i would still say the intercooler or pipes because that happened to my tmic when i forgot to tighten the clips it blew off and whining noise no boost, if u still cant find anything get a garage on the case
Remove the TMIC and have rev the car from the throttle body. You should be able to feel the pressure from the turbo outlet pipe. If there is pressure, you are losing boost elsewhere. If there is none, the problem lies with the turbo itself.
when i get to about 15mph there is a whining noise and no boost at all. i have changed every single vacuum pipe, top mount intercooler and the 2 pipes and still no joy. i dont no whaty else to try. any suggestions
If you have checked, changed all the pipes then it is a difficult one.
Have you inspected the wastegate and checked that the flap hasnt snapped off or is jammed open? I mean taken the downpipe off and inspected through there not just take the actuator arm off and wiglled the flap open?
